I'm the team leader for our final project in my college advertising class.
We're supposed to create advertising materials for a fictional hotel and resort down in the Carribbean.
One of the assignments I'm undertaking is the creation a working website for the hotel.
I would've used Yahoo! Geocities but they closed down recently.
Do any of you know of a good substitute that I could use to make this website?
Thanks!
There are some companies that offer free webspace, but you often get what you pay for in that respect. Best one that I can think of, from the old cadre of free website companies, is Tripod.
http://www.tripod.lycos.com/
Never used them myself, but I remember a number of sites that used to and believe that some still do.
I know Google had one called Google Pages, but that was closed down and changed into something with a different name (Google Sites? Google Webs? Something along the lines of that). I used Google Pages for a while; it's OK. I've been told Geocities was a little more robust.
I have used Google sites. Theres some loss of flexibility, but it makes a good free site.
I had a site at http://0catch.com for years, you can pay them a small fee ( like $1.66 a month) to keep the popups off it. They will prorate the fee and give you a refund when you decide to take it down.
Thanks for the tips guys.
Much appreciated.
