Title: Guess where I was today
Post by: AndyC on October 30, 2009, 10:08:06 PM
I was in this library.

It's at my wife's alma mater in Toronto, Emmanuel College on the U of T campus. She actually worked in that library in university, which was some years after this was made. She was doing a week-long course there this week, and the little girl and I drove down to pick her up. We got a quick tour of the building, and it still looks pretty much as it did in the video.

What fun Andy!

Hubby and I are Vic alumni - before your wife's time.  Our son is there now.  Gary used to play basketball with a couple of the profs in the Emmanuel basement gym.  Good times.

I was very much tempted to sing a few bars, but there were a lot of people studying there (couldn't find a rabbi or a chimp though), and I figured they've heard it before and would probably think I was being an ass. They'd be right, of course, but still...

Well, I was back to the "Tears for Fears" library again, and spent a good deal of time in the lounge next door with my daughter, while my wife finished up another week on course downstairs. This time, I had brought a camera, to get a shot of myself striking some pose from the video in there. It was early, so nobody was in there to disturb anyway. But I left the memory card at home. When I explained my disappointment to my wife, she rolled her eyes and groaned. :teddyr:

Nice trip to Toronto though. Took Ro to the museum, which is right across the street from the building we were in, and we looked at the dinosaurs together. The whole family stayed a couple of nights at a downtown hotel, did some shopping, rode the subway, showed Ro some sights. It was fun.

Well...yesterday.

There I was on Charles St, waiting to meet up with my son after his class and sorely tempted to pop in and take a pic to post here.  I wimped out    - but I was staring at 'the' building for several minutes. Does that count?
