Ho-ly CRAP! This movie was even more of a hoot than Night of The Demon (1980)
Not only did this movie more than satisfy my gorehound tastes, it was also the biggest laugh riot I've had in a while. The acting is over the top and preposterous (One dead body reaction in particular had me nearly falling off of my chair in laughter!) , and the plot has more holes than old sock. But, it also features one of the best shock endings I have EVER seen in a low budget horror film.
If this kind of thing floats your boat, then Pieces is one of the most fun B-movies you will ever see, In my opinion.
I remember loving this movie as a kid, lots of gore and all, but I rewatched it recently and was bored to the max. I think the tennis scenes did it for me. Bad, but not in a good way.
I forgot about the twist ending, which was killer, but it was not enough to save this mediocre tripe. :bluesad:
It took me a while to find a cheapo version of this on DVD with the original beginning intact. The kid whacking the mom because she caught him with the nudie puzzle was almost as wonderful as the push button phone in the house when it was some time in the 1940s. I love movies made by morons.
Not only that, but there's also the New England Patriots banner in the kid's closet. The Patriots didn't exist until 1959. :bouncegiggle:
I saw this movie way back when it was originally released on VHS (I never got around to seeing it in the theater, although I wanted to). As it turned out, I hated it and was ultimately GLAD I missed it in the theater. But I've had a strange yearning to watch it again for some reason.
I have it in a horror boxset and thought it was hilarious!
I think Pieces is the best over-the-top slasher film ever made...
Pieces is one of those movies that would been seen within an actual Horror film, as the main character are going to a show, watching a TV movie or talking about an old movie in general. Its quits funny becuase those movies always sound better then the film your actually watching.

The recent special edition from Grindhouse Releasing blows every other Pieces DVD out of the water. If you've any interest, I highly recommend checking it out.

I do like it enough to pick up a second copy of this, as the film quality of the one I have is terrible. I will check it out!
I think I have the full cut on a many-movie-pack too...
...The full thing explains RCMerchant's much-loved "mysterious-kung-fu-stroke"! ...And it's almost weirder o.O

CHRISTOPHER GEORGE: "Can you imagine the horror... this girl felt... before being sawed in half!!" Okay, I'm surely not quoting him... :bouncegiggle: what a disgusting delight!

What are the Pectorals???
I think I've seen this actress in other Itailian horror films.
She appears to be uncredited in Pieces.
I'd Love to know Her name.

I'm sorry, were you asking if the actress in the picture was Leticia Marfil?
If so, then I can confirm that she is not. Leticia Marfil is the young, brunette tennis player who wet her pants and got sawed in half in the shower stall.
She plays a minor role (about 10 total minutes of screen time) in Naschy's El último kamikaze, which is a rather difficult film to find in North America. So far as I know, it has never been dubbed or subtitled into English. I have an old Greek videocassette with a fairly grainy print, but even that was very difficult to get ahold of. Naschy plays an aging hitman who uses a lot of zany costumes in the course of his work-this seems to be a large portion of the film's charm. Of course, as is typical for a Naschy film, Leticia Marfil's topless shots are also a large part of its charm. ;)
