Title: Near Dark on Blu-ray

Happy as I am to see a hi-def version of Near Dark available, something seems slightly off:

Good Lord, what have you done to the cover?

It's quite obvious what they're trying to do:

On the flip side of this, the popularity of Twilight most likely helped the Near Dark Blu-ray get made at all.

Shame about most DVD/Blu-Ray art these days, especially when Near Dark had older art that was actually fairly good.

I've got the original 2 disc standard def release that came out a few years back courtesy of Anchor Bay.  It had the original poster art on it I believe.

But man, that cover is terrible. Trying to sell this great movie as something that it's not.

And it's only 10 bucks at Walmart!!

Man, I hate fueling that place, but they keep delivering up good prices. Got the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre remastered, 2-disc version in the metal case for only 5 bucks.

I must remember to avoid the video section from now on.
