There are some movies that seem to be made just to include a song in the soundtrack or because of the title is almost obligated to include a certain song.
Examples:
Iron Man had the song Ironman
Ghost Rider had the song Ghost Riders in the Sky
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed films where this happen.
Sorry, but my example is an inverse of what you are looking for.
I love the movie Highway to Hell (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104418/). A great example of the low-budget, direct-to-video brilliance that flew so much in the '90s. However, AC/DC's song never shows up once in the film.
Seeing the preview where they played Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" in Iron Man was what convinced me that the movie was in good hands.
The Shaft. A movie about a killer elevator, and a subplot dealing with a budding romance between some guy and Naomi Watts. At the end, they play Aerosmith's Love in an Elevator. :teddyr:
Eye Of The Tiger in Eye Of The Tiger. Though the song was techincally written for Rocky III.

hehe... I was thinking Highway to Hell (movie made before the song) and Time After Time (Cyndi Lauper's song was made after the movie)
I know that whatever blockbuster is comming out will usually have a major pop song attached to it.
there's always Footloose, 9 to 5, and Stand By Me.

According to what I heard, John Landis also wanted to use "Werewolves of London," which makes sense, in the film, but could not get permission to use it.
And in that regard . . .
I was not surprised to find . . .
"The Lion Sleeps Tonight" in "The Lion King."
"The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" in "The Ballad of Virgil Caine." That was one wierd film, which is probably why I remember it so well.
"Loch Lomond" in "Kidnapped" (1948)
"We Are the Champions" and "We Will Rock You" in "The Mighty Ducks"
"She Wore an Yellow Ribbon" in "She Wore an Yellow Ribbon"
and "You Are My Sunshine" in "Blaze"
The Song BEAUTY AND THE BEAST By Celine Dion Is Played At The End Of DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
