Heres the idea, in a fantasy world you end up living near some of your fellow board friends. You have to pick;
1.) A neighbor to the left AND right of you (next door obviously).
2.) A neighbor across the street
3.) A person who lives up the road
4.) A person who lives several blocks from you in walking distance
Oh and list the reasons why :teddyr:
1.) I'd pick Andrew to live next door. He's into vegetable gardening, has kids that could keep mine occupied while we talk bad movies and video games over a beer.
2.) My other next door neighbor I'd go with Jack. We are both old...er...wise men who seem to have similar interests.
3.) Across the street I'd go with Andy C. He's a nice guy who I think would let me borrow things if I needed. :teddyr:
4.) Up the road I'd go with Allhallows or Trevor. They're both cool fellows I wouldn't mind hanging out with on the weekend.
5.) A few blocks away I'd go with Circus. I figure if I want to party away from the wife and kids he'd be the perfect dude to party with.
No offense if I didn't include you but you can only list so many for this game.
1. Right and left: Susan and Sister Grace, so I can hide in my bushes and peep in their windows at night.
2. Across the street: Burgomster, so I don't have far to go to borrow a DVD from his awesome collection.
3. Up the road: Circus; close enough to visit for a beer but not so close that his headbanging music keeps me up at night.
4. Several blocks away: Trevor. I'd love to have him around but I don't want him too close for fear of underpants odor.

I'd have Trevor as a neighbor any time with certain conditions, keep those underpants corralled and I would have to put my Star Trek collectibles under lock and key.
AndyC would make a nice neighbor, as would Ed (we Eds need to stick together). Across the street would be the lovely Paula. You rarely find a friend that is both gorgeous and loves the same crappy old movies you do.

There will be a global pandemic after they catch some wind. Something similar to what happened in
The Stand. AAAAARGGGHHHHH! :buggedout:
1.) Neighbour to the left: AndyC - it'd be nice to be able to visit. Neighbour to the right: Andrew. And my daughter could babysit for either/both of them.
2.) Neighbour across the street: Trekgeezer or Jack. Close enough for those remember-when get-togethers.
3.) Up the road: Trevor. Close enough to drop by for tea or a meal (or an evening or a movie!); far enough to have his own space. My kids would love to have an honourary "Uncle Zombie"
4.) Several blocks away, but in walking distance: Doggett, or Derf, or Javakoala. (Actually, I could go on listing if I think about it...) Maybe Allhallows...Darksider?...or Burgo...hmmm Paquita or ER would be fun...
But I am still not doing anybody's laundry!

My pleasure to be Uncle Zombie to your kids.
Most adults, like my clients who don't know me well and look in my eyes, sometimes take a step backwards. I was once told that I have a madness in my eyes and also that they are very angry ones.
Buttttt......... I have never met a child of any age who's looked in my eyes and has run screaming to his / her parents. Kids like me, I don't know why but I like them too.
Hmmm, this is tough. I'd gladly have any of you guys as neighbours and I don't want to hurt any feelings. Here goes.
Next door, I have to go with Circus on one side, since he won't complain if I feel the need to listen to Headpins at full volume once in a while. And vice versa.
Probably Darksider on the other side. He seems like somebody I'd get along with.
Across the street, probably Newt. I think her family and mine would probably hit it off, but I wouldn't want her close enough to be bothered by all the loud heavy metal.
And down the street, possibly Ash. He likes a good steak and generally seems like somebody you could hang out and just do guy stuff with.
Of course, I'd want everybody else in the same town. Indy could teach my daughter's class. Trevor could be that chatty guy who always seems to be at the donut shop at any time of day. Burgomaster seems like a natural for mayor. :teddyr:
If it wouldn't be too far beyond the scope of this thread, I could probably find a place for all the regulars in my town.
1.) A neighbor to the left - Circus and Doggett rooming together. I have a feeling they'd get along like the Odd Couple and it would be a hoot to live next door to them.
AND right of you (next door obviously) - Javakoala because I want to come over and watch movies with him in the middle of the night.
2.) A neighbor across the street - Jack because he seems like the type who often wanders out of his house complaining to himself and it would be fun to peek out and giggle at him. AND so we can try to show eachother up every year with holiday decor.
3.) A person who lives up the road - Either RC, Ghouck, or MeQal because they all have an abundance of outrageous/educational life experiences and I could probably listen to them for hours on end. They would also be excellent neighborhood security.. but I think they might cause some occasional small explosions so I kind of want them to be farther down the road for safety purposes.
4.) A person who lives several blocks from you in walking distance - Newt or Paula would be nice to have for some lady company... and Newts daughter can babysit for me!

I've just realized that there isn't a decent donut shop in Pretoria central at all. In the suburbs, yes but not around here.
Ok, after much thought... for near neighbors I'd like Trek (he seems easy to get along with), IndianaSmith for interesting BBQ discussions, Ash and AndyC seem like good sorts to have nearby, and I'd REALLY like to see Trevor's workplace.
I'd love to just poke around a film archive and see whats there. Maybe one of those silly cars from Space Mutiny is hidden somewhere... that was made in SA. I fact, I'll have Trevor use it to get to work, albeit rather slowly.

Tim Hortons is currently invading my area which is ok with me. There are way too many Dunkin Donuts per square inch around here.
It will be interesting to see how far Tim's will go in the US. It's practically a cult up here. The customers are so fiercely loyal, few rivals have been able to match them. Krispy Kreme came in with much fanfare a few years back, then quietly vanished.
Anyway, let's not get too far off topic.

Okay I'm not gonna give you no heat 'bout no "fantasy world..." I won't even quote it...
I'm flattered
Darksider would want me in his neighborhood at all, but disappointed just "up the road..." "Course that's cuz he's got perfect sense. However, I'd be glad to have

Susan on the other side for balance and brains. I'm damned direct, and when drinking mercurial, to put it kindly for myself, but
Darksider has a great sense of humor which I know I appreciate in a neighbor... also if such neighbor had a
brain and loved
BADMOVIES, and music, well...
Across the street, I'd like
Trekgeezer or
Cheezflixz, as
Darksider mentioned, a reliable neighbor to borrow from, rely on, ask their opinion, etc. A person you know who views you critically, perhaps even a polar opposite, but you know is man enough to never let prejudice get in his way and will make up his
own mind.
I'd like
Andrew to live up the road. A tolerant gentleman, he and I don't always see eye to eye, but he is kind, reliable and awesomely generous, qualities I admire. With a little space, I think we could develop a true friendship.
If I do have a true friend on Badmovies, and I mean a person I've actually spoken to and there's a few, I'd have to lay that on
RCMerchant, who could be the "person who lives several blocks away from you in walking distance". I don't want to see my dearest friends every hour or maybe even every day, and I do suspect that
RCMerchant would be in competition with me for
loudest music (but trust me, I'm a good neighbor and know the time and context and consider them when hitting the volume dial).

Thanks for the compliments All Hallows. I've always tended to gravitate toward people who are unlike me, it makes life so much more interesting and has led to some odd but enriching friendships through out my life. I too wouldn't mind Ron Merchant for a neighbor, of course I would have to learn to live with the noise....eerrrr I mean music.
One other person I would like for a neighbor MeQual. I can imagine the two of us sharing a back yard fence. Two southern boys sharing tales of life's calamities and blessings over the back fence.
Neighbors to the side of me: probably Doggett and Venomx. Suspect we'd have a lot in common.
Across the street: Circus...suspect he'd be an entertaining guy to have around on occasion and I don't mind loud music. Or perhaps RCMerchant because we have similar taste in music and movies.
