with all the silliness going on nowadays, it is really a pleasure to watch something like "The Man who skied down Everest". A Japanese champion skier guy wants to ski down mt everest so he assembles a massive crew of sherpas, media people, friends and other to do so all the while keeping a journal, which is read back here in English by some guy as we watch the teams trek. If he had talked half as much, this would have been Werner Herzog movie. If you have a really nice tv it's a bonus, well when isn't it, but it's still worth seeing otherwise. Discovery HD runs it sometimes I'd like to see that. I can't really think of why someone wouldn't enjoy this though perhaps his poetic observations are not startlingly original "I couldn't see where the mountain ended and I began" but they are genuine. Also, most of the focus is on the trip up, not the ride down so not alot of actual ski footage. recommended
