Title: And, for what it is worth, a podcast link -- no spam
Post by: Javakoala on December 06, 2009, 06:09:04 PM
A couple of friends of mine and I do a podcast. We talk about, well, most anything, but mainly entertainment.  I post this link just for those who are curious and so you fine folk here can hear what a dork I sound like.

Oh, by the way, these are people I know through SCA and my SCA name is Alessandro Siminette (I know, an Irish Italian), so they call me Aless (Alice) for short.

And if there are any factual errors, point them out, but do keep in mind I was either drunk or sick at the time. Also, I tend to run my mouth and engage my brain later.

You guys have very melifluous voices, it sounded like I was listening to a couple of local AM radio hosts chatting.  I have absolutely nothing in common with the female host when it comes to movies, though!  She hated STRANGELOVE, A CLOCKWORK ORANGE and ONE OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, but championed MR. HOLLAND'S OPUS?  Next time, force her to watch MONSTER A GO-GO.

Never gonna happen. Mainly because I don't have that movie (wish I did), but they both roll their noses up at any of my comments because I openly love and mainly watch crappy movies. Thus, my opinions are basically ignored because I watch crappy movies, so what do I know?  When I bad mouth a movie that they liked but I haven't seen, I get the standard "You haven't seen it so you don't get a right to an opinion about it." But, oddly enough, that rule doesn't apply to movies I recommend.

And, yeah, her taste in films throws me for a loop now and then.  You like this but you hated THAT?  Very odd.

And thanks for the comments about our voices.  Hopefully, we can get the show back on track now that the holidays are over.
