This thread has probably been thrown around before but I haven't seen it. I haven't dug up the last 100 pages or so to find it, either, but good food is a subject near and dear to my heart. And stomach.

* Pizza (just about any toppings are okay)
* A large roast beef sandwich with barbecue sauce and cheese from the world-famous Kelly's Roast Beef in Massacusetts

* My mother's fried chicken
* My mother's beef stew with dumplings

This is supposedly a recipe for them - we're going to try it out sometime :teddyr: It's for 4 1/4 lbs of burgers, so I guess we'll have to reduce the quantities a bit.

I a huge fan of spicy foods so I add a liberal amount of spice to my cooking. Here are some of my favs;

White Meat - Chicken Quesedialls, Thanksgiving subs, Chicken Caesar wraps and boneless Buffalo chicken
Snacks - saltines, pretzels, chips, Wheat Thins

Hell, if it's technically edible, I'll eat it. Though I'm still skinny as a rail.
LOTS O STUFF!
I'm rather partial to chicken no matter how its prepared. I like bacon too. Baked potatoes (especially with tuna or coleslaw) are another favourite. Steak pie and lasagna are very good too. I've always liked sausages (link or square) as well.
Seafood
Rice
Pizza
Spaghetti
A good homemade hamburger
My Grandmas stuffing
my Grandmas fried okra
Japanese food
Basically, over the past 2-3 years, I've boiled my diet down to this:
Tuna Fish Sandwiches (with mustard, not Mayo, cause Mayo is the grossest thing I've tasted next to cheese)
Peanut Butter and Jelly (or, Apple Butter, whatever I'm feeling the jones for)
Frosted Mini Wheats (the best breakfast cereal, ever)
Raisin Bran (second best cereal)
Italian Hoagies (I'm from Philly, the home of Hoagies, called Subs elsewhere apparently, but yet, without cheese, cause I hate it.)
Onion Rings- Used to hate them, but the restaurant makes their own everyday, no frozen crap in a bag. We literally cut fresh onions, mix in the batter, bread it, then fry it, add a little spice, makes a mean ass Onion ring.
Spaghetti- must be the Italian in me
Rice- good side dish to the Tuna Fish sandwich
Potatoes- another side dish
Hamburgers- my comfort food
Pancakes and Home Fries- for that rare occasion when I can get a hot lunch.
But, I'm kinda on a diet...so I've been limiting it to Tuna, Rice, Potatoes and Spaghetti, although occasionally I will get a hoagie or burger, but only once a week. People say that the carb stuff...potatoes, etc, are bad. A few years ago at the age of 14, I weighed in at a relatively unhealthy 165 or so. For three months I worked out and only ate: chicken, rice, potatoes and Tuna, and at the end of the summer, weighed in around 115/120. Got the most attention from girls I ever did.
Oh i forgot to say bbq pork.
CHINESE!!! I could eat that every day. Egg rolls, fried shrimp, chow mein, pork noodles, won ton soup, etc. Good stuff.
Mashed potatoes with port wine gravy
A nice block of extra-sharp, aged cheddar
Coconut ice cream over warm sticky rice (from Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas)

Chicken and andouille sausage gumbo
turkey (but not smoked)
beef
chicken breast
crawfish
shrimp
crab
eggs
fish
king cake
cake
pie

I recently re-discovered Egg in a hole. A simple but delicious little meal.
Cheeseburger. My wife always rolls her eyes when I refer to it as "nature's perfect food."
In addition to that, almost any kind of Italian, especially spaghetti, lasagna, pizza - anything spicy, tomatoey and cheesy.
Chili, especially when it's nice and thick and loaded with meat and beans, and served with lots of toast.
Roast turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy. If it didn't mean a day of cooking, a pile of dirty dishes and excessive leftovers, I'd cook a turkey once a week.
And real, slow-smoked, fall-off-the-bone barbecue, with a tangy baked-on sauce. All sticky and sweet. I don't mind cooking all day for that.

have you ever heard of Turkey Burgers? They're healthier and taste the same.

I don't find turkey the same as a good beef burger. I've gotten pretty particular over the years, and these days I try to keep the garnishes to a minimum, so they just enhance the taste of the meat. Now, a lean beef burger doesn't taste all that different from a turkey burger once you get everything on it, but then a lean beef burger isn't as juicy or flavourful either. And actually, lean beef is just as healthy as turkey. Beef with taste is higher in cholesterol. That's why I tend to get frustrated with frozen burgers. Most are lean, because lean sells, but it's also dry and kind of bland.

Usually, I just use the crackers to scoop chili out of the bowl, like chips and dip. That is, if I don't have toast. What I do like to add is some finely chopped raw red onion. Just sprinkle it over the bowl before eating. Nice finishing touch. Adds a nice bit of extra flavour and texture.
