Title: WORST DIRECT-TO-VIDEO MOVIES
Post by: The Burgomaster on December 22, 2009, 09:36:39 AM
A couple years ago, Foywonder posted a link to his reviews of the 10 worst direct-to-video movies of 2006.  Based on his reviews, I purchased the following DVDs:

* MOTOR HOME MASSACRE

* MR. JINGLES

* DARK HARVEST 3: SCARECROW

* KVC: KOMODO VS. COBRA

During this buying spree, I also bought some other trash such as:

* PUMPKIN KARVER

* FEAR OF CLOWNS

* THE GRIM REAPER

* THE BUTCHER

* BLACKWATER VALLEY EXORCISM

* SEVERED: FOREST OF THE DEAD

* KILLJOY

There's already a discussion in this forum about the worst movies of 2009.  Anyone have some recommendations for worst direct-to-video movies of 2009 (with pictures of the boxcovers, if possible) so I can start another buying spree?

Horrible movie. I got rid of my copy really quick  :thumbdown:

As for Worst 2009 DTV movie I'd say the honor goes to Wrong Turn 3. It's not Mr. Jingles bad, more like a huge letdown compared to the extremly fun Part 2.

I loved WRONG TURN 3 - but then, I like nearly all Cannibal Mutant Hillbilly movies.

Hmmmm . . . . probably whatever piece of dreck Brain Damage Films churned out last.

Oh, I'm not defending the honor of Mr. Jingles.  I adore it because it's so bad.

And I can blackmail them twenty years from now, if I feel so inclined. :D

PROMETHEUS TRIUMPHANT: A FUGUE IN THE KEY OF FLESH... but pretentious, incompetent and dull bad, not the kind of bad you're hoping for.

Scarlett Fry's Junkfood Horrorfest
It has to be one of the lamest pieces of crap that I've ever seen. It came in a Mill Creek box set that I bought off Amazon. It's nothing more than a horrible student film and anyone involved in making it should be ashame of themselves for being associated to that piece of crap. It's painful to watch and has no entertainment value at all.
Granted the entire box set is full of what look like student films which are just as bad.

Gangs of the Dead (2006): Really bad zombie survival flick with warring gang factions in L.A. stuck together in a warehouse having to fight off invading zombies. I had the misfortune of catching this one on cable a few months back. Not even so-bad-it's-good. It's just pretty unwatchable. Although some of the cartoon south central gangster caricatures made me laugh. No theatrical realease for this one, baby. Straight to cable.

Afraid none of those were released directly to video.
