Unless I missed the topic on this elsewhere I figured I'd start a conversation on this film. I have to admit, this is one of those films that I wondered if it should belong on the "bad movies" board. As a popcorn movie one can turn their brain off to, I think it really serves it's purpose. The action is great and the special effects are fun.
However as a comic book origin movie it kind of falls flat. I'm just a leisure comic book reader and quite frankly found the story to be a mess. I have an inlaw that worships Wolverine and said he almost ripped his hair out at some points. I also HATED what they did with Deadpool. If I were to diagnose a problem with this film it would be the "Mortal Kombat Annihilation Syndrome". That means, too many characters squeezed into one place.
Thoughts?
Critics bashed the hell out of this movie but I loved it.
Didn't care about the story and just had fun watching it.
I also liked this film because it doesn't take itself too seriously.
I think that's why I liked X-Men 3 the best. It didn't take itself seriously, unlike the first two films. It's a comic book movie. It isn't supposed to be serious. (but that's my opinion)
I gave this one 3.5 out of 4 stars.
