Title: EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES (2010)
Post by: The Burgomaster on January 24, 2010, 04:57:36 PM
This barely makes it into the "Good Movie" forum.  It's here because it isn't terrible.  The major problem is we've seen this type of tear-jerker about sick kids and their devoted parents too many times.  Also, it has the usual cliched greedy corporate villains and dedicated, eccentric scientists who work around the clock and don't care much about whether they get paid.  This is the first time I've been able to tolerate Brendan Fraser's performance in any movie (which is strange, because I never thought he'd be able to pull off a role like this . . . but he does fine).  Probably not worth paying movie theater prices, but if you're looking for a bigger-budget version of a "Lifetime" type movie, this one isn't bad.  How's that for a luke-warm, wishy-washy opinion?

That was partially filmed at the hospital where I work.  In my ward, in fact.  I started my shift as the last of the camera crew was leaving.  Didn't get to see or talk to any of the cast.  Pooey!
