I just ordered a movie offa ebay called EQUINOX (1967-1970?) About a group af folks who stumble upon the gateway to HELL. It's obviously the inspiration for the EVIL DEAD films. Thart's ok too! What I wanna know is-what's yer favorite SATAN movies! Say you love Satan, dammit!
I mean. Satan's the problem.he's involved.Wouldn't be a issue if Satan didnt stick his nose in the mix.

(a course these are chebby B films-so yup-even more fun! I LIKE cheeezy B and Z occult movies!)
Kill me if you must, but Ghost Rider
Manos
Zyzzyx Road
Honestly I just rented Equinox (Criterion Collection). It has the sequel too I think. Anyways, Probably the Exorcist would be my favourite.
The Devil Rides Out - this one is a personal favorite of mine
House of the Devil - the most recent Devil worship movie I've seen, a good throw back to '70s-80s thrillers.
Equinox  Love this film RC
A short film called "My Sweet Satan". Pretty good, with some really nasty violence towards the end.

I NEED to see that short-(by Jim Van Beeber-of MANSON HOME MOVIES fame)-it's about a guy I actually met- Ricky Kasso-who was the Acid King of Long Island-nuts.I got high with him inthe 80's when I lived on LI -I swear-I aint making this s**t up. He killed some kid on the gazebo near the ocean.
THIS IS TRUE.Ricky was nuts. I bought cid from him. I didnt like him. He was an arrogent wanna be Hitler.
Equinox is great. Laughed my butt off the first time I saw the extreme closeups of the ranger making "scary" faces. :bouncegiggle:
I liked Rosemary's Baby, and the original Omen.
One I only vaguely remember, but really enjoyed back in the early 80s, was a made-for-TV movie called Invitation to Hell. Starred Robert Urich, I believe. It was all about some swanky neighbourhood with a country club. People go into the steam room there, or the hot springs or whatever, and come out changed. And I remember the hero putting on an experimental space suit and going in there to find a very deep cavern that gets hotter the farther down you go. Wouldn't mind finding that one again.
Speaking of cheezy-( and I think we usually always are!)a favorite I sawed-(as opposed to seen)-was Warren Oates and Peter Fonda (and Loretta Swit!) was RACE WITH THE DEVIL (1975) (and I love parentesises! (obviously) (Yikes!)
Groovy cool s**t! RG Armstrong too! Dirt bikers vs. satanists! Far out!

Wow.. that's creepy. He's definitely a guy I would never have wanted to meet.
It's an unpleasant (but well made) flick that I believe is an extra on the Deadbeat At Dawn DVD.
Another Satan flick (though you don't see him until the end.. and he's played by Victor Buono!) is The Evil.
THE DEVIL'S RAIN!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cKDpLHPp7k
It's got Shatner, Ernest Borgnine (with ram's horns!), Ida Lupino, Tom Skerritt, Eddie Albert, a pre-Welcome Back Kotter Travolta... and the 70's favorite lil' Satanist Anton LaVey.
Ozzymandias speaks: I'm not quite as serious. My favorite Devil film is the orginal Bedazzled.

Ozzymandias has spoken!!!

It is a pretty gruesome short, and yes it is a bonus on the Deadbeat At Dawn DVD. Its been OOP for many years now, but you can pick up copies of it on the net for relatively cheap. I would recommend finding this release as it has a lot of neat extras. It also has the trailer for 'Chunkblower' on it (with commentary), the greatest slasher film never made. The promo features Dwayne Goettel of Skinny Puppy, and Bill Leeb of Front Line Assembly being roasted alive in a car !!!

Lastly it has Skinny Puppy's Spasmolytic video that Jim directed.

Jim's a talented filmaker, but hampered by some of his own tantrums.
Movies that I like:
Equinox (1970)
The Evil Dead (1981)
Damien: Omen II (1978)
Holocaust 2000 (1977)
Werewolves on Wheels (1971)
Warlock (1989)
Event Horizon (1997)
Bless the Child (2000)
Although not a "Satan Movie" but we dont actually know if the Tall Man is from hell... Phantasm (1979)
I forgot to mention John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness. Not his most popular film, but I like it for some reason.
I love Equinox. They were running it on cable for awhile (Starz I think?), and my wife would roll her eyes every time I saw it and put it on. I also like Evilspeak. Corny as hell but a good Satan flick.
The Devil's Nightmare

Lisa and the Devil

The Antichrist

The Devil's Partner

The Undead (1957) features the devil as a main character and honestly it's probably my favourite portrayal in film even though it's somewhat whimsical and comical his appearance here.
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned ROSEMARY'S BABY.
In my humble opinion, this movie was pivotal in taking the horror film out of Dracula's castle and Frankenstein's lab- to a more cerebrel level.
YET.....
way back in 1922 Benjimin Christiensen came with the Dali-esque HAXAN-ie-WITCHCRAFT THROUGH THE AGES...

But even more bizzare was William Grefe's inept ASYLUM OF SATAN. I actually own this junk. sigh.

I love that movie! Dr.Phibes meets succubus! And it's got lesbians! Jinkys! How kin you go wrong?!?! :buggedout:
I always enjoyed Equinox and The Devil's Rain.
Equinox has a young Herb Tarlek (Frank Bonner) fighting Satan and the close up faces of the ranger who is suppose to be Satan when he's being evil are hilarious. Also got to love the claymation monsters in it. It's a bad movie I want to get one day.
The Devil's Rain can best be described as Captain Kirk, Oliver Douglas, and that sheriff from Picket Fences fight an evil Quinton McHale. It is also worth noting that it was the first feature film for a young actor named John Travolta. I got it on DVD.
Another film I did not see mentioned is Blood on Satan's Claw. For those who are Dr. Who fan's, the actor Anthony Ainley who played The Master in many Dr. Who episodes is in this one fighting it out with Ol' Scratch.

"Look upon my face for I am known to all of you. Here is a story of my eternal work. It is a story of all ages - those dark and forgotten and those still to come. Behold the subtle working of my talents and pray that I may never turn my interest upon you" - The Undead (1957)
never saw"Price of Darkness". Does it have the brother from "Simon and Simon".
it's on the list to buy.
"Near Dark" was 2 dollars cheaper,
I have never seen "Equinox", but after reading about it, it's on the must buy list.
"Werewolves on Wheels". I got an old bootleg vhs copy from a friend that I watch once a month or so. To me, It's kinda like "Damination Alley", I look for some new mistake, or something totally out of synch.
THE TALL MAN,from what I have seen, has the devil on speed dial to make real estate deals. Not to p**S off the phantasm fans, but the tall man rules all demisions.

You have a line from the UNDEAD memorized??? Your my hero.
some that i like:
evil speak - with clint howard, need i say more?
prince of darkness - very underrated in my opinion.
legend - tim curry plays the devils nephew!
976 evil - "mmmmmmm, dinners in the oven!"
the first power - early 90s cheese
No one has yet mentioned Brotherhood of Satan, starring King of the Prairie Scum, Strother Martin.
