This is a pretty interesting article if I do say so myself. I personally don't like that they are redesigning it. I know it is a more modern update, but it doesn't feel right. Kind of like how I heard they redesigned Clue.

Looks like garbage. The Monopoly design is classic, and the dated elements just add to its charm. The lack of cash is particularly stupid. It was quite helpful, actually, for helping teach young kids to count and do basic math. The credit system eliminates that. Plus, the bills themselves were just fun to handle
Sacrilige! :hot:
Playing with the fake money was half the fun.
The round design seems pretty much pointless, though interesting
The other changes, however, just sound awful! Come on, why replace the money when it was basically just symbolic of books being updated and armored cars transporting cash from one bank to another to begin with? What really ticks me off personally are having said "plastic tabs" instead of the cool metal pieces; I wouldn't have even minded if they updated them, but making them "plastic tabs" is just blanding stuff up for no reason! :bluesad:
FAIL
Looks like the "new Coke" of board games.

Trying to buy stuff with it when I was a kid nearly got me arrested. :buggedout:
Honestly, I'm sure it'll probably just be a flop, like that debit card Monopoly was. I never bought it, I never knew anyone who bought it. I never really heard about it doing well.
As long as they don't go and pull the old Monopoly off of the shelves (à la Disney Vault) I'm really not all that concerned.
