Hey gang!
We all remember some sort of taglines on posters or video covers that caught our eye, whether it was stupid, awesome, or funny, or all at once! What ones stick out in your mind?
For me:
"You don't have to go to Texas for a chainsaw massacre!"--Pieces
"They were warned.. they are doomed. And on Friday the 13th, nothing will save them."--Friday the 13th , original
"WE ARE GOING TO EAT YOU!"--Zombie

It's PSYCHO-BATHIC!
It's cleavage vs. cleavers and the result is delta delta deadly!

Afro-goona? What the hell is a "goona"? :buggedout:
Not quite a tagline-

They really gave these out. I own one!
I remember seeing a vhs copy of "nail gun massacre" at the local video store.
the tag line was
"it's cheaper than a chainsaw!"
always makes me laugh
I always like the tagline for Popcorn
Buy a bag... go home in a box :teddyr:
Woodchipper Massacre
"How much flesh would a Woodchipper chip, if a Woodchipper could chip flesh?"
I forgot about the Dark Power one.. that really is awful. :teddyr:
That would be awesome to own a barf bag, especially from Zombie.
Cool tagline, bad movie:

From a couple of 80's slashers:
The Mutilator: "By pick, by axe, by sword, bye bye!"
The Prey: "It's not human, and it's got an axe!"

Robert Altman's Nashville: "The damndest thing you ever saw!"
My favourite: "Chuck Norris doesn't need a weapon.....he is a weapon!" from An Eye For An Eye.
My all time favorite...
From various versions of the legendary Chuck Norris flick Breaker! Breaker!
"One man makes a difference"
"A town without justice, a hero without fear"
"Battle cry of the great trucker's war"
"Don't muck around with an 18 wheel trucker - he's go at CB radio and a hundred friends who might just get mad"
"A bean store dolly and a million miler... they had an 18 wheeler...and a grudge"
"Mean mother trucker"

I know it seems awful but Patrick Swayze as a ghost isn't too farfetched.
This tag is on my vhs copy of Army of Darkness;
Trapped in time
Surronded by evil
Low on gas
The tag on my vhs of The Mechanic (with charles bronson)
He has more than a dozen ways to kill and they all work!
I always liked this one from The Willies (1990):
"You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll puke, you'll die!"
That's a lot for just one movie to take you through, you know?
Dawn Of The Dead:
When there's no more room in HELL.. the DEAD will walk the Earth
Quote from: Shadow on February 28, 2010, 09:28:28 AM
The Prey: "It's not human, and it's got an axe!"
That has to be my favourite tagline. Not very creative, but it gets right to business. :teddyr:

From what I remember, I don't think he used the axe much at all after the opening. A terrible low-budget movie with lots of nature footage (!) and a truly goofy performance by the park ranger. A lot of people were suckered in by that admittedly cool tagline.
Really dumb tagline..
Killer to the left! Killer to the right! Stand up! Sit down! Fright! Fright! Fright!

And if I recall correctly, the killer WAS human, just badly burned, so that tagline is completely false. Still admire its simplicity though.
Dominator - "Anyone who says Rock is dead, WILL be!"
I kinda like this one, but it makes me think the film is going to be a dystopian future in which Rock music no longer exists.
It's not.
"Take the stairs, take the stairs. For God's sake, take the stairs!"
- The Lift (1983)

On that note: my favorite is from that lousy BIGFOOT movie with a Joi Landsing, Chris Mitchum, Doodles Weaver, and a very old John Carradine.
BIGFOOT
Breeds With Anything...

He doesn't breed with John Carradine, which might have been something to see.

"A rock band gives their final performance on a hell bound trip into the outer reaches of horror!"
I actually get to see this in a theater next month. I can't wait!

What am I....Male or Female?
If Jake can't fix it, it's been dead too long- Blood Salvage
SILENT RAGE: "Science created him. Now Chuck Norris must destroy him."
Hatchet: It's not a remake, it's not a sequel, and it's not based on a Japanese one. Old school American horror.
