We watched this movie recently - It is amazing -
Best thing about it?: It plays it straight, right down the line . . .
"Black Dynamite" is always referred to as the central character's Christian name, as in the fact that everyone - including people who have never met him - refer to him as "Black Dynamite"!!
Nobody cracks a smile or breaks the Fourth Wall or even gives any indication that they are in a Parody Film of conventions from 35 years ago -
Funniest thing I've seen in years -

Glad you posted this. It's on my list!
black dynamite is AWSOME!!
everything you could want in a 70's drive in movie is in this one
my favorite in the movie was black dynamite was almost defeated by "kung fu trechery"
I'm about to go downstairs and watch this one!
That was the most fun movie I've watched in awhile!! Everyone needs to see this one. My favorite part was (spoiler below)
when he got into the numchuck fight with Richard Nixon at the end!
Great! Finally a sequel to Napoleon Dynamite!

Now that looks like entertainment!!!
Very enjoyable film. Probably the closest I've seen a modern film come to creating the 70s look - makes me wonder why more don't use 16mm reversal stock, as it works great and is relatively cheap to shoot on. Looks far closer to an actual grindhouse film than Grindhouse did, anyway.
And yeah, indy, that finale was NOT expected, but it was totally awesome.
I think my favorite part of the movie is a little before that moment, when Black Dynamite looks up at the exploding helicopter and yells out, "Cream Corn! NOOOO!"
Hilarious. It's an 8/10, but I think on repeat viewings it has a good chance of moving to a 9/10.
"Ha ha! I threw that s**t before I walked in the room!"
Man, I really want to watch this movie. I'm assuming it's out on DVD now, correct?
