We B-movie fanatics, at least in our collective consciousness, know a thing or two about how a good bad movie should look. There is likely even some film-making talent there as well. It has been suggested through some recent threads that the brain pool be tapped to make a low-budget b piece. Most recently, I was sort of tasked with putting together a thread with the purpose of getting preliminary script concepts together for consideration. So here's the thread. Please read carefully.
We're going with a typical movie pitch. If you have an idea for a script, whether fleshed-out or just a basic idea that you would like to throw into the pool, then reply with that pitch in 25 words or less. Keep in mind that this is just very broad strokes, just a basic premise. You don't even necessarily have to end up being the script writer. Think of it as the quick synopsis you would read on a cable or satellite guide. Now, it is not uncommon for movie pitches to run over 25 words, so if you do, no big deal, just do you best.
Important note: This has to be a very low-budget project for it to have a chance to work, so keep that in mind with your pitches.
As soon as there is a good number of pitches, I'm going to put them into a poll to get them narrowed down via the collective wisdom of the forum members.
This is still experimental at this point, but I think it will be fun to at least see how far this can go. Let the pitches begin.
Pitch 1
The caretaker of a "Body Farm" must destroy the Goul that's eating all the corpse.
Pitch 2
A cheating henchman is forced to run into the zombie infested woods with handcuffs.
Pitch 3
Inspired by a true story ~ A cult leader on a cruise ship with hippy slaves searching for alien lifeforms and finds one in the Bermuda Triangle.
Pitch 4
Avid b-movie fanatic becomes serial killer upon getting fed up with remake after remake. Starts going after the filmmakers responsible.

Pitch 5
The hairs on a person's body suddenly came alive and decide to leave by painfully plucking themselves out.
[Ok... I'm going to take a break from the pitches for now]
I'm flattered you liked that.

I can picture some good kills (one director sliced by a glove claws, another by a chainsaw, another with a plastic bag... maybe one with a lightsaber [for the remastered New Hope]) although the budget is another story... would be an interesting script... :)

Sorry, but my time is too valuable to read something that long. Try to keep it under 25 words next time.

Three unpopular bounty hunters get their chance to regain recognition when an old man hires them to kill a mutant that has been stealing his prune juice.

I did contradict my own directive, didn't I? Well, I did say it was okay to go over a few words.
Keep in mind we will probably be working with whatever money we currently have in our pockets, and most of that will go to getting equipment to make this with.
Special FX aren't out of the question, but we're going to need to get really creative.
A website called indymogul.com has a show dedicated to making practical FX, all with a budget under 50 dollars. But still, at this point let's just assume we wont have any money to make this with.
Here's my pitch with this in mind...
Three people are turned into vampire *ish* creatures by neo-nazi's and then buried alive. After 20 years they escape and seek revenge.
Genre - Crime, Exploitation, Horror, SciFi, Western... *Coen fan*

I really like this idea...
A menacing ghost, seen only in shadows, stalks a group of kids lost in the woods. Wait, they already did that one  Stil you could throw a new twist on this old idea.

Pardon my ignorance, but are you kidding, or is that a joke. I'm not good at reading between the lines.

The Remake (2006)....
plot: A movie crew travels up north for a weekend of bonding before their next big movie shoot, a remake of the horror classic "Slaughter Camp 13!". Not everybody is happy with this project, ruining the integrity of the original slasher flick, especially a deranged fan who has entered their ranks to make sure This Remake NEVER HAPPENS!
Although... the movie played in the show was 69 mins long (really short) and 1 user view on imdb (assuming the filmmakers own review) and 52 votes (assuming friends, filmmaker and family, lol) oddly a 2006 movie and no trailer...
Joe did you see this movie?
Also... Flick James movie was picked I would think such titles as:
Reslash!
Stop Making Remakes!
Don't Touch the Classic!
I never heard of it. No big surprise if that notion has been tackled already. It's all going to come down to the vote. If none of my pitches gets selected, that's life. The poll is going up today, BTW.

Actually with mine, I was thinking of my real life childhood ghostly experience where I, at about age 11-12, truly believe I might have encountered the Wendigo. :buggedout: After I saw it, numerous tragedies did happen in my small hometown over the years, some even involving members of my own family. Some people believe seeing it can be an omen of death.
I can draw a picture for ads..but otherwise-I have no talent. :bluesad:

Pitch
Undead rockers come back from the grave to overthrow modern pop artists.
Genre: Horror, Exploitaion

I'm coming into this a bit late, but why not an anthology like Creepshow or Tales from the Darkside or something? Have one team do a wrap around framing story, then we can have some of the other groups do various short stories to fill it out.
That would give more people, a chance to work on the project, let us use more ideas, and it stretched things out to feature lenght without anybody having to struggle doing a full movie on their own.

I like this idea... :)
I had started planning on writing an anthology. I had a few good stories, and a good wrap-around one too. I called it, Within the House of Horrors. The wrap-around took place in a haunted house ride called The House of Horrors, and the main guy telling the stories is the guy that runs it. Just an idea though.
That has potential for a good wrap around. What's the twist?
I had an idea that he could be a self referential slasher. He shuts down the rides claiming there's technical difficulties, and then kills the people on it.

There's a new thread for pitches, Berko. Put it there so it will end up on the new poll next week.
