Over the last 2-3 weeks there have been discussion threads presenting the idea of heads coming together from the forums to create a B-movie. I took it upon myself to moderate a script idea selection process. I hope I'm doing a good job at it. So far the complaints have been minimal. I asked for those interested in providing ideas for a movie to submit pitches of 25 words or less. Most kept to the guidelines, some went a little over, but overall everyone did a fantastic job adhering to the request.
There are over 30 pitches presented, preceded by the username of whoever pitched it. Whoever pitched the idea does not necessarily have to be the one who writes the script, but you should be at least involved with the development since it was your idea. There were a couple I made slight edits to to get it closer to the word count guideline. Sorry, had to do it. We want your votes to determine which ones will be considered for further development. Keep in mind this is a big experiment. We don't really know how far we're going to be able to take this, but if there is enough involvement, it could actually lead to a super-low-budget B-movie. Let's be honest, it'll probably be a Z-movie, but who cares, it's fun.
The idea has been repeated several times that the project become an anthology film, with several short movies pieced together. We're not there yet. It may be that that is what happens, but we'll explore that further when the pitches have been narrowed down. Please do your best to pick your favorite pitches, regardless of whether it is a good anthology piece or more of a full feature. Ideas can always be scaled back to accomodate an anthology if necessary.
Everyone is given three votes, and you can't change them. Since there are over 30 pitches, the goal is to narrow it down to the top 10, rather than the top 5 as it was with the first poll. This poll will run for 1 week. Let's get the party started.
Happy voting.
BTW, it is perfectly okay to post replies with such things as your comments on certain pitches, or even explaining your pitch a little further, as some folks had a more fleshed out idea but had to condense the pitch to keep it even and fair to everyone. These things do influence voting.
Sorry. One more thing. Please do your best to not vote only for your pitches if you pitched more than one. Picking one of yours is perfectly okay, but try to vote for others with your other two votes. I can't make anyone do this, of course, but try.
I feel like I'm turning into a control freak here. I promise I'm not. :bouncegiggle:
lol... I voted on 3 and none were my ideas... really good stuff this time around :)
 I just wanted to try and prevent people for just voting on theirs. Using one of your votes for yours is okay as far as I'm concerned. Again, nothing I can do to control it, just a request.
I voted for my own idea. :twirl: Along with two others, Skull's Bermuda Triangle/hippie idea, and JimmyBob's alien pimp comedy. I really like Jase's stock footage suggestion, except that it's more of a method of creating a movie on the cheap then it is a story.
If chosen I will write my own script.

Fingers crossed I would like to see your script... :)
Thanks, for voting on my silly L Ron Hubbard inspiration.
I did the same, voted for one of my own and the other two on some of the other ideas. I like alot of them. This is actually alot of fun.
I really like xJASEEFx's wendigo pitch. I also voted for Berko's spiritual murder idea
and Flick James' pitch on the b-movie fan taking revenge on remakes.
I think I'm the only one so far who didn't vote for my own ideas.
I wanted to explain 2 of my pitches since there vague.
The superhero pitch:
Think of a schizophrenic running around in a costume who thinks he is saving people but end up killing them in silly comic book style or go all punisher on them. Could be a very dark comedy if done right.
The zombie lodge pitch:
Like dracula who turns other people into vampires when he bites them only a zombie instead the twist is though he seems normal he has to eat human flesh in order to keep he or she from turning back into a mindless zombie.
Also I voted for only one of mine Stuffed animals. The other was the twin sister and animal revenge both one I relate to as I have a twin sister. The whole pet cemetery sorta theme but only the guys deserves it.

Okay, just posting once more for the day to keep the thread up on the list. I'll see you all tomorrow.
Please, good people, vote. There are almost 70 views of this topic but only 8 votes.
I voted for Flick James' B-Movie Remake Serial Killer suggestion, Feiyen's stuffed animal one and my own Stock Footage one. Actually I think I'd prefer annoying characters meeting their demise to stock footage over the unlikely teen heroes one. Glad someone liked the Wendigo pitch...I'm thinking of attempting to do a story with that in another form at some point.
I am unable to vote, for some reason. The voting option isn't there. Is anyone else having this problem?

New users are unable to participate in polls. That changes after you have enough posts.
These are all good ~ pity I could only vote for three, but I had to vote for that one with the old guy and his prune juice. :teddyr:
Regarding the avid B-movie fanatic going after remake directors, obviously there couldn't be real B-movies from the past in it because of coypright laws, but in the story the classic B's would be fictitious, but based on some of the classics. For example, there would be one based on the films that used major holidays, such as Halloween or My Bloody Valentine, or one based on an Ed Wood type of film, maybe another based on one of the classic zombie films, and so on. So the film would be part homage and part instrument to voice the feelings of most of us here at the green forum about all the really bad remakes Hollywood keeps churning out.
Chainsawmidget's pitch about the painting was actually a more fleshed-out idea he had posted during the pitch phase, but I made him scale it down to fit the format, and it lost some of the punch. It's actually quite a good short film concept and I have an idea about a tie-in/wrap-around around concept for the movie should it turn into an anthology, which is based on his idea. First you have to see what his original cocept was. Here's his original fleshed-out concept, quoted directly from the other thread:
"The Painting.
A mother buys a new painting for the house. Her kid doesn't like it and thinks it's creepy. One night, when left alone with it, he notices that whenever he takes his eyes off the painting, the figure in it shifts positions. Eventually, he goes to touch just so he can prove to himself that it's just a painting, except when he does, it ripples like water.
When the mothers comes back home later, she sees her son banging on the paining from the inside trying to get back out. ... then the man in the painting comes up from behind her. Cut to black."
My idea is that the anthology follows a character, man or woman, who visits a mysterious travelling art gallery that is very macabre-themed. The character moves from painting to painting, and each one becomes one of the anthology movies. The first one would be Chainsawmidget's movie about the painting, so sort of a painting-in-a-painting thing. Then at the end of the movie, after the last movie in the anthology, we go back to the gallery, as the character goes back to the first painting for a second look. The very last shot is the gallery patron noticing that the man from the painting is not there anymore and the man coming up from behind and it cuts to black just like at the end of Chainsawmidget's movie.
This is a homage to the early 70's Rod Serling t.v. series "Night Gallery."

lol... You could always make fun of the names/movies...
My Bloody Halloween, The Saturday after the 13th, The Devils Night, New Years Undead, Episode 4, Valentines Night, Night of the Hungry Ghosts, etc... :)
Just putting in a quick post to keep the thread up. I will not be checking in over the weekend. It would be nice to see a lot more voting. I get the feeling that most of the votes have come from those that made pitches. Just a hunch. We'd really like your votes. I know there's alot to read on the poll, but by voting you are potentially contributing to the making of a movie, if it ever goes that far.
Anyway, since I won't be checking in over the weekend, somebody please post something periodically to keep the thread high on the forum.
Cheers, and have a good weekend.

K-K, you'll want to check out this thread (http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,113581.0.html), coming up on it's two year anniversary...
The rest of you, vote!
Bump it wayyyyy up just putting this back on top its sinking fast. Votes Please! Thank You.
Came back from a weekend away and very sad to see only one more vote. I'm surprised. I figured the poll would turn some away due to the size of it, but at the same time I suspected the average greenboard member had a slightly higher attention span than average. I'm not too worried. As it stands, we have 10 pitches with 2 or more votes, so there's out top 10 right there. The poll still has until the 1st to hopefully get a few more votes. Once we have narrowed it down to 10 we'll talk about feature vs. anthology and go from there.
LET'S GET SOME MORE VOTES!!!
p.s. How many posts does it take for a new member to be able to vote?

Heh heh. Just go crazy. Find as many threads as you can and post a quick one. It can't be that long. It's been so long for me that I don't remember. I don't think I ever voted on a poll until well into my tenure so I couldn't tell you.
12's the magic number.

What happens if there's a tie?
O.T. announcement:
For people interested in scriptwriting, check out ScriptFrenzy. During the entire month of April, you write a 100 page script, and the site keeps track of your progress. It's from the people that started National Novel Writing Month.
It's free, so for people that are interested in script writing, I'd highly recommend looking into it.

That's a good question. The way it's going, it's not going to be a top 10. Likely, I'm going to narrow the list down to everything that received two or more votes, then narrow it down further from there.
Just voted, for Skull's third one, Rev's suggestion, and Indianasmith's suggestion. :teddyr:
A little over an hour left to get your votes in. Please look at the poll and vote for your favorites. Tick tock tick tock tick tock.
