That's good and all, but uh... what about eradicating cancer? lol
I think that the guinea worm will be around for a long time to come. Cases will drop to almost nothing, but you're still gonna have one or two people who are just plain thirsty and will throw caution to the wind.
And what about the livestock? Does it affect animals the same as people?
Apparently it is a parasite that requires a human host. It would be a great thing to eradicate the Guinea Worm.

the sad thing is that its such a preventable illness that affects a lot of kids around the world. It doesn't cost much money to treat or prevent but the people affected are too poor or remote to access the necessary equipment.
Look up charities that treat this online- its ridiculous how little they ask to help.
