most of these are good movies type movies so I put this here
My favorite assasination movie is DAY OF THE JACKAL. Too bad THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH and EXECUTIVE ACTION didn't make the list.

I agree, as far as a "pure" assassination movie goes. I like THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE a lot too, but to me it's more of a "paranoia" movie.
Agreed with the list for the most part. Glad to see "In the Line of Fire" in there, I was going to be upset if it wasn't. The whole dynamic between Eastwood's and Malcovich's characters was extremely well developed. Agree with you on Manchurian Candidate, Rev., but still felt it belonged on the list.
JFK is okay if you watch it with the understanding that it's virtually a work of fiction that's based on the crackpot consipracy theories of Jim Garrison.

Oh yeah, it definitely belongs on the list. There aren't too many movies with a straight "assassination" theme, but there are a surprising amount of good ones, aren't there?
Will I be shunned if I mention DAY OF THE DOLPHIN?
I'ma Luc Besson fan...La Femme Nikita (aka Nikita) and The Professional (aka Leon).

Suddenly (1954) deserves a mention IMO.
I'm still waiting for the ultimate William McKinley assassination movie.
Nobody ever mentions WINTER KILLS (1979).

There is of course the Charles Bronson film Assassination where the First Lady's life is under threat. In this film, the First Lady is referred to as "One Mama". :buggedout:

I bought this DVD a few years ago. I couldn't really get into it. Maybe I need a repeat viewing.

Oooh . . . a dreadful movie.
There's also the Peter Collinson movie Tigers Don't Cry aka Target of An Assassin and more aka titles than I have underpants. :buggedout:
John Phillip Law plays the assassin who tries and fails to kill an African president ~ not a bad film for a government sponsored one.
And this is a very nice poster:
