Title: JIMMY, THE BOY WONDER (1966) - Herschell Gordon Lewis strikes again!

I bought this DVD-R from Something Weird.  I always wanted to see it after reading the Psychotronic write-up.

The movie starts with young Jimmy Jaye getting yelled at by his (offscreen) mother because he's late for school.  He makes a wish that time would disappear and the evil Mr. Fig hears him and stops time!  Mr. Fig has painted-on eyebrows and wears a plaid jacket and bright-colored pants that are too short . . . he looks like a demented used-car salesman.

An old astronomer (a guy in a cheesy wizard costume) sends his daughter Aurora to help Jimmy reset the great clock at the world's end.  Mr. Fig follows them around and tries to thwart their plans.  (Someone should film a remake with Bruce Campbell in this role).

Since the movie is so short and pointless, they decided to insert a cartoon in the middle of it.  The damned cartoon is about 20 minutes long.  And its DUBBED into English!  Sometimes, a cartoon character's mouth moves for several seconds without any voice coming out.  In one instance, you see one character's mouth moving, but you hear a different character's voice!  (I guess young kids wouldn't notice this).

Oh, by the way, this is a musical containing 4 hilarious songs, complete with awful dance choreography.

If you recognize the setting, it's because it was filmed at the Coral Castles . . . the same place Doris Wishman made NUDE ON THE MOON!

Watch this at your own risk!

After Hurricane Andrew the Red Cross set up a food distribution center on the grounds of Coral Castle. I went there to get some bottled water and to get a gander at the famous bizarre landmark.

Killed two birds with one huge mysterious coral stone that day.
