Title: Everything's In Turmoil...
Post by: JaseSF on May 17, 2010, 06:03:52 PM
Well things are kind of in turmoil in my life right now. There's a lot of job uncertainty in my life at present. My old job is still there but I'm not sure it'll provide an adequate living this year although I cannot say for certain just yet. I'm looking for a new one but finding one right now doesn't seem too likely either. Anyways it might be I'm going to have to disconnect the internet and everything in a few weeks and perhaps go without satellite TV for the first time in years. Now this isn't a certain thing and I sure hope it doesn't come to that (and I suspect it'll be a few weeks off at least) but well...I might not be able to afford it for a while so if I just disappear at some point, that's likely why...

I sure don't want to be without internet...but well I'm still hoping for the best, that it doesn't even come to that...can't say I'm not worried though. Just keep hoping thing'll work out somehow...that's what my girlfriend always tells me anyways.

I'm hoping for the best too.  What will happen to the Fame or Shame threads without you?

Tell your deadbeat girlfriend to pay for the Internet!

Seriously, hope it doesn't come to that.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I'm looking into the job market and trying to figure out where I fit because next semester will be my last-- I don't like the idea of staying in school and accumulating even more debt because the market looks bad.
But, it's like they just don't want to pay people for anything anymore, like no ones supposed to make a living.

There is a chance things'll work out somehow yet. I've faced tough times in my work before and somehow got through it so hopefully I'll find a way again. I'm not giving up hope on possibly finding another job or even something short-term or online to supplement my income perhaps (but I am wary of all those pyramid schemes out there)....if I do have to disconnect the internet, I really hope it's only short term.

Hey on the lighter side, if everyone ends up cutting back more on expenses, then the prices pf things will have to be cut to so people will consume.

Hey Jase, one of the things I do to supplement my income is sell used books online at Amazon. I buy them cheap at used book stores, libraries, garage sales and the like.   I don't bring in a ton of cash because I don't spend alot of time doing it, and because I don't like to price gouge but I actually make enough to pay for my cable/phone/internet package every month. If you're interested look for books about it at the library or just let me know and I'll give you some titles.( I can't think of them off-hand right now). Good luck!
