You have to 'hand' it to him and not get 'rapped on the knuckles', this is a great guy indeed.
Once again like AHD, I can appreciate a good smart alleck. Rev fits tha bill perfectly. Plus we can often mooch off him for free legal advice. :bouncegiggle: Rev is the LAW
Thanks guys, but I'm already covered in the everybody appreciation thread (http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,130093.msg338744).
Besides, no one here could possibly appreciate me as much as I appreciate myself.

Well fine then. :tongueout:
Our irreverent reverend brings several comparisons to mind, but at the moment the one that stands out is The Cat Who Walked by Himself: if we speak words in his praise he will say, "But still I am the Cat who walks by himself, and all places are alike to me."
The Rev. is a smart man, quick witted, and a fine friend. Too bad about that whole lawyer thing, but nobody's perfect :teddyr:
The Rev is often inspiring me to dig back into my library for some Jazz, or Classical, bit... or gets me hunting for a used copy! :teddyr:
The best part of the smart ass Rev is he's also considerate.
Rev. Powell - great, disturbing character played by Robert Mitchum.
Rev. Powell the poster - witty fellow with something usually interesting to say or add and a good mod. His thoughts on films are always a must-read too. Usually he seems pretty spot on in that regard.
The Rev is a hero of mine.
Than you guys, I'm touched. I'm blushing, in fact.
I'm so humble that I'm almost tempted to lock or delete this thread, but it would be selfish of me to deny you the opportunity to praise me.
You, Reverend, are one of my foavrite BMDO Brothers. Cheers!

Make sure you clean up after "appreciating yourself".
I have a feeling that Reverend Powell is just as clear-spoken and friendly in real-life as he is in online-life. Would you agree, Reverend?
I remember about when Reverend Powell started posting here, and I also remember very quickly thinking that the level of discussion on the forum has gone WAY WAY up.
Another one to keep you on your toes...
Notably, too, he posted some really cool dudes in the Top 100 Guitarists thread. :teddyr:

Actually, in so-called real life I'm standoffish.... I've never had much enthusiasm for small talk, schmoozing, and networking. I prefer a very small circle of loyal, close friends to a large number of acquaintances. And I've always preferred the written word to the spoken word. Far more control over what I say.
Rev up your engines for the pun master! Revvy, you're a smart guy and a helluva human. Here's a lollipop.

The Rev. has impeccable taste in movies.
Well, actually, he's often wrong, specifically when it entails movies that star "Weird" Al Yankovic.
At any rate, he has a damn fine website.
Since it's the Rev's birthday today, I will take the opportunity to add:
If I see something of Nero Wolfe in AHD, in the same vein I see a good streak of Archie Goodwin in our Rev. Powell.
"...the thorn in the seat of Wolfe's chair to keep him from going to sleep and waking up only for meals..."
Thanks for keeping us all awake, Rev!
That song Magic Man by Heart always makes me think of Reverend Powell.
I always turn to Rev. Powell when I need a blast of Bad Movie religion.
