Folks, you may not see me on here for a while. I'm taking a short break. It has nothing to do with the website. I'm taking a break from internet as a whole.
I've been wasting so much time playing games and screwing around on the internet that I have been neglecting all the other important aspects of my life. I just got to go deal with it. Mainly, I want to get some of my works published before I do much else with my life. I keep saying I want to be a writer, but self-doubt always gets in the way. I'll be dealing with that while I'm gone.
Have fun, and enjoy some b-liciousness for me.
~Joe
Fair thee well, Joe.
The length of your break will likely be dictated by the rate at which you accomplish what you set out to. Should you find yourself make some serious progress, it's probably safe to start whittling your way back in. I used to be a gamer nut, but marriage and kids and pursuit on an MBA has curtailed that just by default, they require so much. But it's not something I regret in the slightest. Now I just come on websites like these as my guilty pleasure, and make it to a pub session when I get the chance to play Irish traditional music on my mandolin and banjo. That's all my time will allow. You'll sort it out.
Good luck!
When you get something published, be sure to let us know!
Have fun in whatever you do!
I'll be sad to see you go. Unfortunately the Internet, and this site, can be a big time sink. I hope you get some stuff accomplished and come back to us.
Check in when you can!
Good luck! We'll be here - and glad to see you return.
One thing for certain, you will never ever be forgotten here.
Arrivederci and good luck!
All the best to you, Joe and all success to you.
Best of luck in your real-life endeavors Joe! We'll miss you around here, so try to pop in once in a while and say hi :teddyr:
Good luck. Hope to see you back here soon (even if it's just for an occasional cameo appearance).
You'll be missed Joe and enjoy your break! Funny you mention this, I've been cutting back a bit too especially at night and the weekends. I usually do during the summer time when I prefer to be outside.
Good luck and have fun JOE!
Aww man, well good luck in your endeavors. Don't let self-doubt get in the way, once you get started publishing or on anything that self-doubt gradually disappears.
I took a a break from the internet.
It was rubbish.
I was much happier when I was back here.
Still, good luck and have fun, Joe.
Good luck Joe. Maybe we can meet for a Seahawks game or something someday, when you straighten everything out.
Best of luck to you Joe! Really hope it all works out for you. I actually have similar aspirations myself and I know all about the self-confidence problems and how that can be a stumbling block.
Best of luck to ya! I used to write a little myself, and you know what many of my mentors said? The hardest part of writing is getting started. It's easy to say you're going to write something, after all; many people say they want to write a novel or whatever, but far too few people actually sit down and do it. The sad part is that they usually do have to time; if you have time to watch some TV or surf the internet, you have time to get some writing done, after all. Hopefully you'll find a good routine that allows you to do the things have to, get some writing done and visit us once in a while.
Good luck Joe! I'm an aspiring writer also (there's quite a few of us around here!) so I can relate
Yeah, it's true, the worst part is getting started. You're doing the smart thing breaking from the net for a while but we'll miss you!
