Back in the mid 80's I'd say probably about 1984-1987 I remember seeing a movie about Sherlock Holmes and Watson having to solve a case about Jack the Ripper in the foggy streets of London.Anyway the only real thing I remember about this movie is that besides Jack killing the woman at night he aslo had a midget accomplice that would hide in trees and jump down on victims with a knife.Actually it was a very good and suspensful movie.Pretty sure it wasn't American and that it was a British film.Anyone have any idea or clue about what film I am talking about?
I want to apoligize to the forum moderator.Once again I posted this topic on the wrong board. It should be in the Unsolved boards and not on this one.I'm new here so I will get the hang of it soon.
I think the film is entitled MURDER BY DECREE. Or something very like that.
Actually thats not it but now were on the right track. As a matter of fact now that I think about it maybe it wasn't Sherlock Holmes,it was just an inspector from Scotland Yard.
Maybe it was FROM HELL then?
From Hell didn't have a midget, plus it's a fairly new film, it's not from the 80s
hi sounds like a mixture between MURDER BY DECREE AND MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE,
but alas i must admit i have no idea what this movie may be called
Definitely not From Hell I saw that one,and it's not Murder by Decree because I checked the trailer for that one the other night and that wasn't it.Now that I think about it I think murder may have been in the title though.
Maybe A Study in Terror?

Definitely not A STUDY IN TERROR, but it could be this one:
JACK THE RIPPER (1976) (http://www.movie-gazette.com/772/jack-the-ripper)
