Yes, really:

I know that we had a thread making fun of movies that draw inspiration from board games, but this sounds like an Onion article and not a real film.
AHHH! NO!
What's next Boggle?
The world must be about to end because they're running out of ideas for movies.

I like the guy on the message board who says "I'm already excited about the sequel......"
Did you catch the fact that the plot involves some sort of alien invasion?
That is a funny idea. Pirates of the Caribbean did pretty well and it was based on a ride.
I've heard about this. I'll wait to pass judgement until I start hearing and seeing some of the production. I've been wrong about movies before...
I'll see it just so I can hear a professional actor try to say this line seriously:
Damn, he sunk our battleship!
Look at the bright side. Any story they come up with that involves aiming blindly at coordinates to sink ships will be true to the game. We've seen what Hollywood does with games like Doom or Resident Evil that come with a ready-made story. Maybe this is more their speed.
Am I the only who kind of wants to see Sean Connery in this just so we can hear him say "You sunk my battleship"?
If they're going with board games, though, I'd like to see an adaptation of "Sorry." I dunno, I just want to see what they could make out of a game with such an abstract concept.

But for Connery, it would be "You shank my battleship."
I'd kind of like to see what Hollywood could do with Yahtzee. Or maybe Pop-O-Matic Trouble, where they have to contend with an abstract concept while working in a weird physical gimmick. :bouncegiggle:
