Title: 80's alien(?) movie

Hi,

I'm looking for a title of some 80's movie, from which I only remember a scene involving a group of people (researchers?) who were trying to establish a contact with someone (aliens?) by playing this melody: c-e-d-f-e-g-C. I think the movie was american.

I think the movie you are looking for is Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977).
