Title: Songs that should have been included in a movie but weren't
Post by: retrorussell on September 07, 2010, 02:34:57 PM
Hey guys.

What songs do you think would have fit really well on a movie soundtrack, and played during the movie, but for some reason it didn't happen?  The reason may be legit (the song may have come out after the film) or maybe it was on the soundtrack on tape or cd but not played in the film.  Whatever the reason.. what songs do you think would have fit in well with a movie?

My choice: "Hearts" by Marty Balin, for MY BLOODY VALENTINE

Well, that gorgeous ABBA like song in Midnight comes to mind......... But that's more a case of a film that shouldn't have been made with a song that should never have been written or performed.  :buggedout:

Agreed.  And in case you were interested, I believe it's an Australian band called "Quintessence" that performs that song.  If it hit it big on the Australian pop charts I will hold an eternal grudge against the Land Down Under.

I wish the film PIECES had Patsy Cline's "I Fall To Pieces" in it.  I would have laughed even harder.

"Nightmare" by Eve 6. It's generic Modern Rock, but kinda catchy.
I always thought that song would've been perfect in Trailers for something like "Urban Legends: Final Cut" or "Final Destination".

I just thought of a really stupid one, so forgive me, please.

The Toolbox Murders should have had the Trini Lopez song If I Had A Hammer in it.

The movie "Island City" spent enough time lovingly kissing AT&T's @$$, that it really could've benefited from TelStar by The Tornadoes, either in one of the bar scenes, or in one of the scenes where that kid was playing with his VR headset.

The Last Samurai should have had "Turning Japanese" by The Vapors.

I kind of thought there might have been an identical thread previously.. but of course, that was right after I hit "post".  Ah well..

"Bad Girls" by Donna Summer for the film "Chained Heat", or any other women-in-prison film for that matter.
"These Eyes" by The Guess Who for the film "Blue Eyes Of The Broken Doll", or at least to be played during the scenes involving carrying the gouged eyes.
"Ring My Bell" by Anita Ward, for Hunchback Of Notre Dame.  :teddyr:
