Not exactly a good movie, but it is an interesting artifact of film making. The only print of the film was burned and it was thought that all the copies were lost or destroyed, until one turned up in France. SciFi channel actually paid for the restoration of the film in 2001
I don't find the film all that interesting, but the people involved and the whole Esperanto thing thing make it an interesting curiosity. I DVR'd the film from TCM Friday night and finally watched it all (it's only 75 minutes long. Back in 2001 when the SciFi channel showed it, I had a hard time getting through it (aka falling asleep).
Here's a link to the wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incubus_%281965_film%29) which does a better job relating the history of the film than I can.
Shatner even manages to work his staggered delivery into the act . I understand that he is a fluent French speaker, having grown up in Quebec. I would like to hear him doing something dramatic in French.
p.s. I forgot to mention the curse!
