I saw this movie in bits and pieces a few years back on a channel that airs both A and B grade movies. I saw it at night in silence (with no volume!) when I was not allowed to be out of bed but snuck out. The movie is definitely from the 90's or early 2000's.
What parts of the movie I did manage to see showed this single mother with two kids living on a remote estate. She had a daughter and son, both of which seemed younger than 14. There was this man (lets call him Guy A) living outside their house and the kids really seemed to like him. He could have been a fugitive / wanted criminal although I'm not sure.
The family seemed to be in danger and I remember a group people trying to burn their house and damage their property. I also think there was a guy dressed like a cop shown a lot during the movie.
Towards the end the 'Guy A' saved the family and their property from the bad guys and the single mother definitely had a sex scene with the guy.
The landscape around the family's house seemed rugged and barren and there were no houses nearby.
There's not much else I can clearly remember apart from that. I think the Guy A came into the family's house quite a bit, played with the kids, ate dinner with them and saw the video of what seemed like the woman's ex-husband.
Does anyone know the name of this movie?
Your film could possibly be Robert Harmon's "Nowhere To Run" (1993) with Jean Claude van Damme. I'm not saying that it is your film but much of what you described is in that film. Rosanna Arquette and Joss Ackland are also in it: the latter actor gets his nuts slammed in the car door at the end of this. :buggedout: :buggedout:
Trevor I was just thinking the same thing.I second Nowhere To Run with Jean Claude Van Damme and Rosana Arquette.
