Marilyn Manson-dude was extremely controversial from what I remember. I remember in high school I couldn't wear a t-shirt with him on it cause Columbine had happened that spring and they felt it was 'in support of what had happened.' Which it wasn't. I just liked the dude's music.

Gotta echo the sentiment about the '96 Olympics in Atlanta. I was there and attended Judo, Weighlifting, Track & Field (or maybe it was the Triathlon?) and Baseball. Absolutely loved Weightlifting the most. I cheered for everybody participating.

Yeah, I still have an SNES. I remember playing many games on it. Had a Genesis at the time too but played SNES much more. I liked certain games from the library much more.
I remember Mortal Kombat though played Genesis more. Think it was said to resemble the arcade game much closer but can't remember exactly.
Goldeneye was fun. :) I remember playing a friend all the time. Proximity mines. Though, they liked Oddjob. That small bastard was never fun to run into while trying to shoot everyone else.

I'm thinking that was it. I remember the Genesis being more unafraid to show violence and other themes. However, despite that many Genesis games while playable were not stand out games. I think that is what killed the Genesis game wise. I remember SNES RPGs and such. Those seemed to engage you more and keep you going more in my opinion.

All the Goosebumps mummy books were lies. They promised us the living dead by showing mummies with glowing eyes on the covers (usually), but the damn things never showed up until the very end of the book! I wanted to read about mummies going on book-long rampages that the protagonists had to stop one way or another!

Nice, lately I've actually been going back to the 80's looking at Airwolf and such. I'm surprised by the number of shows that were about a guy and some high tech machine he had to use. However, that is for another thread.

Nice, the Maxx. FF3, it is still one of the most enjoyable entries into the Final Fantasy saga. I like the slight tech meets fantasy elements in it. I think the inclusion is much better then even FF7. Brett Hart, used to be my favorite wrestler. I watched during the time and preferred wrestlers with submission moves Brett Hart and Sting being my faves at the time. Nice memories.

Beck is a personal favorite of mine, actually. I was around 10ish when
Mellow Gold, his third album and major label debut, came out. Loved it. My aunt had it (she's not much older than me), and I've gotten much of his output since.
"Amish Paradise" by Weird Al. Technically his first 'hit' was in '79, but he had a resurgence in the '90s and this was a relatively big hit for him. Dude had 4 albums released in the '90s. And a TV show. Was a big part of my youth.

I vastly prefer this version of the commercial (and song) to the Spice Girls' one, this coming from a Spice Girls fan.

Boo... :buggedout:
I met Gilbert not too long ago. I said: "I used to watch you on USA Up All Night", and he says: "You must be one pathetic, lonely man right about now, but thanks!" :bouncegiggle:
I've been rewatching this a lot recently:

I was young, Rhonda was kind of attractive. Gilbert was kind of annoying. You don't see things in the right light when you are younger.
I liked Rhonda too. I was a young teen and she was very attractive. I found Gilbert funny and love his standup, so when he was in town, I just had to go.

One of the Nickelodeon networks on my cable package, TeenNick, has a two hour block of '90s Nick Programming from midnight to 2AM. One show they've rerun is Clarissa.

Which did you guys prefer: Beakman's World or Bill Nye the Science Guy?
Big Bad BeetleBorgshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XdoMP23EKE
A tv show produced by Saban for the Fox Network. It was one of many shows that Saban adapted from a Japanese Superhero type show. In this case, the Metal Heroes type show in Japan. Don't know much about the original show, but on the Fox version, 3 kids around 12 years old are fans of a comic book, called Big Bad Beetleborgs. They wander into a local abandoned house inhabited by a Mummy, Wolfman, Frankenstein's Creature and Dracula. They somehow unleash a ghoul/wizard, who grants them the wish of being their favorite superheroes. But, in doing that, he also unleashes the villains in the comic. There's some humor in the show, what with the creatures in the house frequently foiling the kids lives or trying to eat them, but overall they're friendly and help out when they can.

Overall, Beakman's World. Bill Nye's funny, and I liked his show as well. I just remember Beakman's World being part of a great lineup of shows so I'd just keep it on.
