Same. I had to look it up and yeah, not my kind of scene :bluesad:
I thought this was going to be about desperately needing to go to the bathroom :teddyr:
I may check out that game, depends on if I'm busy playing something else in Nov. or not. I've got Elder Scrolls 4 but I didn't make it too far into it at all because I had just finished another really long medieval RPG before I started it. I hope the character creator lets you make somebody who's not so hideous this time.
We just got Morrowind (after playing Oblivion for forever) and Shivering Isles. Even so, my boys are champing at the bit to get their hands on ES 5. But they have plenty of other games to fill in the time, thank you! (Portal 2 comes out in Feb - I have to weather that one as well.)
I thought maybe you had to pee or something.
Sorry, I really like the Elder Scrolls series. I'll admit that ARENA and DAGGERFALL were before my time, but I love replaying MORROWIND and OBLIVION over and over. The depth and complexity of the worlds Bethesda has created are truly epic, and their graphics are always beautiful. And the mods to the games are frequently even better than the original games themselves - THE LOST SPIRES Oblivion mod was a blast!
Reminds me of the time I was sitting in the living room with my brother silently watching TV, and he turns to me and says, "Two weeks, eh?!"
Turns out he was talking about the release of Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon.
A better story, actually, but it didn't happen to me. This was a while back, before the first Spider-Man movie came out. (For the purposes of this story, the Raimi movie was due out in a month or two.)
Anyway, my friend was eating dinner with a couple who were expecting their first baby. At one point in the dinner, one of the couple's friends turned to the father-to-be and said, "So, so-and-so, are you excited?"
He got a really excited look on his face and asked, "You mean about Spider-Man?!"
"Um, no. About your new baby?"
One of my favorite stories of fandom.

I can't wait either. I enjoy the Elder Scrolls series. It is deep, fascinating. Quite interesting, in fact. There is a complexity in the series as Bethesda has worked to tie it together. Everything builds on everything else. There is a complete to an extent history and culture produced that definitely immerses you in the game. Specifically, I am pleased with Max Von Sydow in the narrator position from the trailer. If you are looking for a norse Patrick Stewart feel, I think you can't do much better then Max Von Sydow.

Why Indy, my fellow Reaganite, this is your evil Ayleid sorceror-king you're talking to.
You KNOW I can't wait for it, :bouncegiggle:
Although, what I'd like to see, is the first 3 games before Morrowind (AND Morrowind itself) get re-done in Oblivion-style graphics with more monsters and random cave and dungeon re-population, instead of the continual stream of bandits and creatures that usually repopulate a cave area as they did in Oblivion.
Yes, hundreds of more hours of my life slated for adventuring, but I know I'm not alone in this, so let us adventure forth, and enjoy mead, wenching, and high adventure in Skyrim!

Shivering Isles is one of the two expansions for Oblivion. The other one is
Knights of The Nine and is where I got my username from, Umaril The Unfeathered. It's a very short but very nice and well written adventure.
Shivering Isles has some unnaturally beautiful cave areas, a mix of underground trees, roots, and glowing plants and some of the strangest creatures ever seen. And of course, the Daedric prince of madness, Lord Sheogorath himself. Have fun with this one

I never had the PC version of Oblivion because my machine's not powerful enough to handle it. The '360 version was good though, and yes,
very lovely graphics.
The Ayleid ruins were always my fave places to go.
The designs, natural stone and carved architecture...the magics of Welkynd and Varla stones, and the hallways lit by the waning magics of meteoric ore suspended from cieling cages. All those eerie hues of blue and green...
When you travel back to the age of Myth (the Mythic Dawn) you see what the Ayleid cities looked like in their day..flowers all around the entrance, strands of Morning Glory entwined around the pillars. Some of the best work in the entire game!
