Title: A Peter Cushing film
Post by: Couchtr26 on February 14, 2011, 03:42:45 PM
It was a kind of sci fi/horror movie with Peter Cushing (I think).  There are these creatures that are like turtles or armadillos (hard shell, can't penetrate, somewhat oval shaped like an armadillo).  They have these long tentacle like tongues that consume things they touch.  Could be caustic in some way.  English country manor is the main back drop.  Technology seems to be around 1930's or 1940's.  Cars looked like Mercedes Gazelles and the like from what I remember.  The thing I remember most is there is a scene with Peter Cushing and a group of two other people (woman and man).  Creature attacks and gets the tentacle wrapped around Peter Cushings wrist.  They have to cut his hand off with an axe.  I can't recall where I saw this, I think on PBS.  Supposed to be some Hammer or British horror film I hadn't heard of at the time.  Can't recall the title and have been remembering these scenes.  Want to prove this movie exists, as no one seems to believe me.  For all I know it could be completely different from my recollection.  However, I'm sure the scene with the hand being cut off occurs.
