Robo-cop was not particularly flattering to the city of Detroit. Why on earth would they erect  a statue?

Have you ever been to Detroit?  It looked better after Robocop wreaked havoc there.

This is a tough one. Seems like the cities that usually get a memorable presence in movies are the ones that have a lot of movies set in them. So I don't really associate them with one movie.

Off the top of my head:
Boise, Idaho - Moving
Chicago - Ferris Buehler's Day Off
Calgary - Superman III

New York is always in my head as the seedy, dangerous and dirty place that 80s vigilante/killer movies made it. Even though I've been there and it's not like that anymore, that is what comes to mind at the name.

Funny, I seem to associate comedies with cities, more than other genres, except possibly for action.

I should add that some of the cities previously mentioned have the same connections for me.

Copenhagen - Reptilicus
Los Angeles - Independence Day (more than New York, for me)
Tokyo - The whole Kaiju genre

And actually, the state of Idaho, in general, makes me think of The Being. Probably because I can't think of another horror movie set in Idaho. Certainly not one that emphasizes the fact.

And Chicago does have an association with Kolchak: The Night Stalker for me. I recall it making good use of establishing shots of the city.

Master of the Universe with my home town of Whittier, California, mostly because it was filmed on location there. Funny seeing Skeletor hovering down Greenleaf Avenue where I hung out a bunch as a teenager.
