This came up in the barbershop thread. We seem to have a significant number of completely bald guys, frequenting the board, as well as some who have shaved at one time or another. Although the subject has come up, I don't know that we've ever actually counted.
So, here is a Badmovies baldness census.
I shave it down to the bristles with electric clippers (no guard, I just shave it as close as the clippers will go . . . not completely bald, but right down to the stubble). I will probably go completely skin-head soon and start shaving with a blade.
By the way, that's "skin-head" as a hair style, NOT as a white supremecist lifestyle.
I occasionally clipper mine without attachments down to skin. I used to keep it that was all the time until my mid college years when I started to grow it out. Currently I have hair on top with a really tight fade on the side. I hate hair around my ears, its like torture to me.
I have pleanty of long, beautiful hair. Who want to cut this ?:

(still can't shave properly to save my life though :bouncegiggle:)
No baldness here, move along folks.
I started out with the clipper sans-guard. Then said "f**k it" and went to the razor about 8 years ago. At first I razor shaved about 3 times a week. I've mellowed that out and only shave once or twice a week now. I have a relaxed work place so that means I shave both the head and the face once or twice a week.
I've had my hair cut short a few times; it just ain't me. I'm back to pretending it's 1979 again.
WAIT i can stop being bald? Please say its so.

I'm 27, and am currently undergoing male pattern baldness. I expected it to happen from a young age (my mother's father was super bald) but was just hoping it wouldn't be noticeable until my 30s. It's starting to get pretty noticeable, though it's still just thin rather than an actual patch on top. Oh well.

Do wathca gotta do.
I think somebody, it may have even been on this site, once said that shaving the head was the equivalent of a combover, just an obvious attempt to hide baldness.
Ahem. The point that they're both attempts to hide baldness is about all those two have in common. It just so happens that there are far more women who are attracted to bald heads than are attracted to combovers. That alone makes them pretty damned different.
I'm in my 30s but my hair still grows thick and long very fast. My dad has thick hair and his dad had thick hair. I guess it runs in the family.
I've shaved my head once but it was totally not me.

Probably me. I've referred to a shaved head as "the new combover" a few times. Make the sides match the top, and the naturally bald part ironically looks less obvious. A totally bald head has a very different effect on your appearance than male pattern baldness, and people perceive it differently.
I think it's funny that I started shaving when I had a full head of hair, and have been "going bald" without having any hair. It's an interesting experience. There's been a gradual lessening of shadow on the top of my head, and a growing area that always stays smooth. It's definitely an improvement. Really, at this point, if I could make it all fall out, I'd do it without hesitation and be done with it. I've gone beyond liking baldness better to really not liking hair on my head. If I have to go more than a couple of days without shaving, I start to feel kind of scruffy and gross, and I'll wear a hat as much as possible until I can fix it.

No one. They need a weekhacker to get through that!
Yes I hate it. absolutely hate it
I have over-sized earlobes. I need long poofy hair to either conceal them or distract people. I hate going to get my hair cut. I like this ridiculous mess on my head.
Only mild wisps of hair on the very top of my head (started losing hair in my early 20s) and just letting the back grow long. If it behooves me I may pony tail it in public. People that tell me to cut it get a quick "No" from me, a hateful glare or perhaps a "F*** you", depending on my mood.
At first, I thought the subject line said, "Are you or have you ever been balled?"

Its just a casual question in Britain. :teddyr:
being I am 55, I have a lot more hair than most guys I know my age.
No baldness here. A full head of hair and past my shoulders in length.
I buzz it occasionally. I am not going bald from what I've seen, but like to trim it from time to time. Nobody in my immediate family is bald so I'm holding out hope I won't go that way.
It's 12h06 here on Friday afternoon so I must start saying goodbye to my hair ~ tomorrow it shall be gone. :teddyr:
I say :teddyr: because it is for a good cause.

Getting shaved? I guess you'll have to get thicker underpants now. :teddyr:

Nooo..... I meant the hair on my head........oh, never mind.
I normally have huge, afro-like hair. I got my head shaved today. Reason? To freak people out.
In all seriousness though, the bald style is actually pretty cool. It really makes you look more serious, even intimidating. (a la Kerry King and Anton LaVey):

No.I have hair past my shoulders. No bald spot-but at 48-and my fashion sense which consists of plaid flannel shirts and shop pants-I look like a homeless guy. :bluesad:
If I ever started balding, I would definitely want to go for the full shave. Looks much better.

Well, I guess shaving down there would certainly take the attention off the top of the head.
I am now officially 98% bald.
