Title: Beastly (2011)
Post by: InformationGeek on March 03, 2011, 07:43:48 PM
This is basically your modern retelling of the classic Beauty and the Beast tale... but for teenage girls from what I gathered.  You know what that means.  I'm already reminded of Red Riding Hood coming soon.  Oh crap.

But anyways, the movie recently popped up on my radar and its already rolling in the bad reviews from all over the places.  I won't see it in theaters, but I'll probably check it out Ondemand.  For those of you who are willing to bite the bullet, anyone care to check out the film and report back?  Here's a trailer and an audio review on it:

So it's beauty in the beast where instead of becoming a hideous monster, he becomes a tattoo enthusiast who looks like he was in a motorcycle accident.

Anybody else remember when monsters were monstrous?

Yes.  This.

Ok, I'll admit it.  I saw this.  I won free passes so at least I didn't pay for it.  It's as stupid as you would think.  Many things about it were dumb, but none as absurd as the fact that the "attractive" guy actually got more attractive when he became "disfigured".  I found myself wishing he would never be turned back to his boring preppy self.

The other scary thing about this movie is that the only things that redeemed it were Mary Kate Olsen and Neil Patrick Harris. Can you imagine having to say that about a movie?

this movie would look appealing if i was a 14 year old taylor hicks fan. perhaps if it was "beastiality" it might redeem itself.  :teddyr:

I like Penny Arcade's comment on this:
