I am often praised for my impressions. Just last night I was watching "Jewel of the Nile" and I felt like making fun of Micheal Douglas. My father said that I do a really good Micheal Douglas. My sister praises me for doing a great Alan Rickman. Who can YOU imitate?
I can do an impression of absolutely any actor or actress doing an impression of me. It's uncanny - I sound just like they sound just like me!
I've been told I do a good Sean Connery.
I used to impersonate Alfred Hitchcock, but that was a loooooooong time ago.
People tell me I do a pretty good Arnold Schwarzenegger which is amazing as I'm not Austrian.
My ex once told me that I did a good impersonation of porn star Ron Jeremy. :buggedout: :buggedout: :tongueout: :twirl:

I'm pretty good at impressions. I can pretty much master any voice if I spend long enough studying it.

Pretty much the same here. A lot like drawing a caricature - you figure out what sounds make the voice distinctive, break it down to its essentials, then be very precise in duplicating and exaggerating those sounds. I find it's the attention to detail that really makes the difference. A lot of bad impressions are the result of a superficial imitation by someone who doesn't take care to listen closely.
Some friends and I used to do impressions all the time, of famous people and people we knew. It became almost second nature. We'd be talking about somebody, and we'd just slip into their voice whenever we quoted them. It was really funny, especially when one of us would crack the others up with a spot-on impression without even realizing he was doing it. Half the fun was in the way a voice would just casually slip into a conversation.
Buddy of mine (impression in bold): Gerald and Marlin came by and said "We're goin' for f*ckin' coffee" so I went with them. :bouncegiggle:
We also did an assortment of accents. Mennonite was the big one, being the most common local accent, and common to a lot of people we knew.
As far as famous people go, back then we used to get the biggest laughs with Hanibal Lecter and Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs, a few different Simpsons characters, Clint Eastwood, Shatner, a few TV commercials, etc.
"Get to the choppaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
See how good that was?
I guess if anybody wants to put their money where their mouth is they'll post theirs on youtube.
Note: I'm chicken.
It's not uh Tumahhh!
Put that cookie down, now!!!
one guess.
I do a pretty decent impression of Gary Owens.
