Thank god right? I expect it'll go three more months as a fad after this films release then finally vanish off the map and join the fad graveyard with "High School Musical".
Now we need somebody just as talented ad J.K. Rowling to step up to the plate before somebody makes crap to fill Twilight's hole. The same way people filled Twilight with the hole Harry Potter left after the books finished.
Tis won't be the end. In about a year, someone will come up with, TWILIGHT: THE BEGINNING or TWILIGHT: AFTERMATH or TWILIGHT: ARMAGEDDON or TWILIGHT AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM or TWILIGHT: JASON LIVES or something . . .
Oddly plot/dialog wise its the same story four times over.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Burgo - I definitely foresee them continuing as long as there is profit. Who knows if they'll keep the books going, but I feel that the movies will definitely keep popping up (maybe even just direct to video) or they may do a tv show.
I do agree though, that hopefully after this next movie, we'll see a drop off in Twilight saturation everywhere we go...

You've made an already been made discovery.
The filmmakers are already finding way to stretch it out. Turning one book into two films. Characters will probably get their own spin off franchises. And if the profits drop even a little bit, Remake Reboot time!
Wanna bet they'll be a TV series?

No. But, I agree with everyone else. Just because the films based on the books are coming to an end, doesn't mean that the films themsevles will come to an end. Unfortunately, as long as the films continue to make a profit, we will probably see more "Twilight" films.
Seriously, if we all got together we'd HAVE to watch at least the first movie.

Real vampires have good like powers. So what'll it be? God-like powers, sun sparkling? It's a hard choice right?

My wife loves the books/likes the movies, but I swore up and down that I would NEVER experience Twilight in any way, shape or form. She found a loophole though and got me to watch the first movie - she got us tickets to a Master Pancake Theater showing, which is basically like a live version of Mystery Science Theater. It actually ended up being pretty funny stuff - they tore the movie to shreds. I could not believe how bad the movie itself was though. There were MANY times wear I swear I turned to my wife and said "this isn't really a movie is it? Is this just a prank?"
Thank goodness the Twilight movies are almost over and Hollywood will get back to making quality motion pictures.

As long as Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer are around there will always be grade A movie crap.
whew, so just one more sparkly vampire movie for us to make it through before all the little teen girls find something else to obsess about.
My wife filled me in on the books (she read them all, I got the 10 second synopsis which even that was a little too long) I'm not sure how they are going to film this cause a good chunk of it deals with her pregnancy and birth. Of course this could have gone another way and she got some vampire STD but that would be even more "middle school health class" than what it already is.

A karma for you, very sly and straight man of you.
Thing is, she's not a terrible author. I thought _The Host_ was a pretty good tale.
In the realm of just popcorn reading, the Twilight books were okay. Tolkein? No. But okay.
The films though, yeah, they aren't compelling. Only so much of actors trying to stare soulfully that I can take in a film. (not much)
Okay, Now I think that this hatred towards Twilight is Exaggerated. Yes, Vampires don't Sparkle, but aren't they, at basics, a romantic figure? Dracula, for example, has been a pseudo romantic figure, it's just that these vamps are teens. Also, these movies are for GIRLS in their Coming of Age phase. At first, I thought the guys would just come to and just say fine, I was proven wrong today. I was walking through Tulane's and I overheard this couple argue about Twilight.
" NO, I Prohibit you from using Netflix to watch TWILIGHT!"
"But, you-"
"Enough, or else this Relation is OVER!!"
The girl ran off crying, and this douche gives us a bad name because the horrors of watching a Non-explosion movie. WHAT A F**KING JERK! :hatred: I'm officially through with this HATE!
Really, this douchebag really broke up with a girl over "Twilight?" I bet he's got a small penis! I don't think "Twilight" is anything great, but I like Kristen Stewart, so I've seen them all. I went to see the last one at the theater, and some backward redneck who works there had put up a sign which read: "Any male seeing this movie should check his man card at the door." Damn, it p**sed me off! You can't even see a movie anymore without being judged.

Since we're on the topic, I'll post this link that has been posted here before but bears repeating. I still laugh every time I read it:

"Gooooood!... good. I say farewell to this 'sparkled sell out' of a vampire movie."
I think they should start remaking all the vampire classics and make them able to be out in the day and sparkle like they do in Twilight.
(ducks to avoid stones)
The third one is on my video shelf (thanks to wifey) and I'm avoiding doing a review. I really can't take anymore of it.

Hahahahahaha!
I've been watching vampire movies for as long as I can remember, from the classic Hammer movies to the surprisingly good Wes Craven's Dracula 2000. I was suckered by the imagery for Twilight and was brutally disappointed when I realized that it was not a vampire movie, but a teenage chick flick with vampires in it. Oh my gaaaaaah!
It took me about ten minutes, but I rolled with it and sort of enjoyed it for what it was. A teenage chick flick, another take on starcrossed lovers, an exploration of the loneliness of a 'boy' who can never love without the danger of killing his mate. Yeah, utter tosh, but I had to rationalize it somehow. :teddyr:
Coming soon to a theatre near you: Twilight Ferox, Night of the Living Twilight, I Spit On Your Twilight, and The Twilight Chainsaw Massacre...
I thought the first one wasn't too bad, its a well made entertaining little movie. s**t hit the fan when the sequel came out but I had already lost interest in watching any of those.
Not sure why everyone is upset. Nobody is forcing you to watch Twilight movies and I wouldn't care less if they stop or continue for eternity.
I've said it before, they're bad movies with a budget. That's all they really are. And "bad" movies are just like "good" movies: some are entertaining to watch to some people and some aren't. I had the same attitude toward these horrible movies that most here seem to have at first, but I've come to actually watch them when they come around for free and can tolerate them because, at the core, they are just bad films with performances and dialogue that I can laugh at.
I used to be an old bad movie snob, reluctant to watch any bad movies after, say, the early 80's at the latest. I've evolved past that. Now I can watch new bad movies with no problem. Funny, my wife actually bought into Twilight just a little bit at first, but now she actually watches them from the bad movie perspective now, so, like Charlie Sheen, I'm WINNING!
I'd like to see it end just so Kristen Stewart can make more great movies like "The Runaways." Her other work is much better. She's too good an actress to be saying stupid lines like "your my vampire boyfriend." If you haven't seen "The Runaways," her portrayal of Joan Jett is so good I forgot I wasn't really watching Joan Jett.
Meh. People will find something else just as stupid to fawn over soon enough. It's a cycle.

I agree whole heartedly. Bella is an empty soul of a character.
Isn't this ripping off of the new Harry Potter movie, the last one being into two parts? :buggedout: Damn you Twilight, Be creative!
