I listen to a radio program in the morning hosted by 2 guys who are friends of Peter and Bobby Farrelly and have made cameo appearances in some of their movies. They said they exhanged text messages with the Farrelly's about the cast of the upcoming 3 Stooges movie and found out no one has been signed yet to play Moe, Larry, and Curly. However, the front-runners are:
* HANK AZARIA (Moe)
* SEAN HAYES (Larry)
* WILL SASSO (Curly)
Not bad, but I would have preferred BENICIO DEL TORO, SEAN PENN, and JIM CARREY.
Why did they change it? No DEL TORO, PENN, and CARREY now? Damn.

My understanding is Carrey didn't want to gain a lot of weight to play Curly, Sean Penn was taking a very "high maintenance" attitude with the Farrelly brothers, and Del Toro dropped out after Carrey and Penn walked away.
