"I think it's something that's very closely inspired by Argento's original movie, and I think fans of that movie will see that we're taking those concepts — and in some cases those scenes, and in some cases those exact shots and dialogue — and expanding on it and making it very artful. And hopefully, horrifying."

Hmm don't see anything about 3D, but who knows.

It will make the scenes artful?  What, they weren't artful before?

One thing we might get out of a remake, though I doubt it, is Argento's original idea of making all the ballet students 12 and under. But his father, who was the producer, and the studio scotched the idea, because of the fear that a film so violent with such young actresses, would lead to the film being banned. Thus, the age of the ballet students was raised to 20. But, I think today's audience is ready for a horror film set in a ballet school, where all the students are 12 and under.
