I'm talking about the sequel to Cronenberg's 1986 remake which is not to be confused with either of the sequels attached to the original 1958 film.
I'm gonna be watching it soon, well, as soon as the slow torrent file finishes downloading.
It's kinda cheesy/bad but it appears to have a devoted following. Great f/x and blood letting though.
I think it's great.
Nothing original but no where near as bad as some say.
3/5
Yeah, I like it too. Not as good as Cronenberg's 1986 movie, but a fun monster movie nonetheless.
The first time I saw it many years ago, I thought it was okay. But I bought the DVD a few years ago and when I watched it again I didn't like it very much. I'm in no hurry to watch it again.
It's kind of good but it also kind of sucks. I've seen it twice and that's plenty.
I will say that Bartok's fate is the second most disturbing thing I've ever seen in a movie. (The first being the entirety of John Carpenter's The Thing.)
I liked it. Not bad for a sequal at all. Plus, it's got a limber young Daphne Zuniga.

A film can be great fun without actually rocking the foundation of incredible cinema.
I think Tron Legacy is great and I'd give that a 3/5 too.
The Fly II is a great sequel. It may not be up to par with the first movie, but it's still a fun ride.
I think it's GREAT!!! But, it's only so-so... :twirl: I'd give a 3 out of 5.  (Seriously that does describe THE FLY II.)
Ending up watching it last night and honestly I thought it was a bore. The acting was typically bad, the script was problematic, the direction was all over the place, the pacing was slow and the Fly design wasn't as good as the one used in Cronenberg's film. Some of the deaths were creative but it was missing that sick, grotesque vibe.
The only element I really liked about the story was Marty's relationship with the dog, which even as the Fly he showed compassion for, even though that was a different dog all together.
Not as good as the first but not terribly bad either.
It's been ages since I last checked it out... my impressions were not good, but at least the film has some disgusting gore towards the end.
