. . . but I'm looking forward to this.

You're crazy
:teddyr:
The beauty of this is they don't make any attempt to hide the fact that it's schlock. Most of the dialogue in the trailer is one cliche after another . . . same with the characters. I love it.
I have been waiting for ages to see this !
I had a Planet of the Apes fix awhile back and I'm really looking forward to this.
Hmmm, CGI monkeys.....no thanks!

I can't wait to see your reaction when they remake
Killer Klowns from Outer Space.

It couldn't be any worse than Sal Mineo's embarrassing (but mercifully short) appearance in ESCAPE FROM THE PLANET OF THE APES.
I was surprised at this one...
It could be great, but it probably won't be. It will probably rely too much on knowing the outcome already. That being said, where the hell are all these monkeys coming from that they can just take on 6 billion people with guns??
I hope that question gets answered well, otherwise the 90 minutes leading up to it will be a complete waste of time.
It's kind of telling when they list the credits of the special effects company in the trailer :bouncegiggle:
Oh well, the last one was genuinely funny with all its unintentional stupidity. Hopefully this one will live up to those same high standards.
Ya Crazy!
wait, CGI Monkeys?!

Which continuity does this tie into? Charlton Heston or Mark Wahlberg?

Probably neither
Um... wow. A Planet of the Apes prequel? Wow.
You're right about all the cliches. "This will change lives. We call it ... the Cure." Big budget movie with low budget plot, by the looks of it.
I'm not so sure I'm looking forward to it. The first movie freaked me out, particularly the part where they drag out the second astronaut who has been lobotomized. The second movie was just so-so. Heck, they covered Helena Bonham Carter's face with ape makeup! I can't decide whether that was a good or bad thing.
I, too, find it hard to understand how a bunch of apes, who seem no more intelligent than average humans in later movies, can take over the world. Yes, they are big and fast and can rip a man's arms off, but we do have guns. Unless the apes got the guns ... Anyway.
Crimminy wept.
I love ya Burgo...I'll pray for yer soul. :bluesad:
Even then, only the small apes could use guns. Fingers are too big for the triggers...
I can only see this working if they nuke everything but that doesn't help them out at all either... Meh...
Crazy is too mild of a term to use. I'd rather just get off this chair, bolt out of my room-decorated-with-cartoon-characters, rush to the nearest phone, and call a mental hospital to come pick you up, straitjacket already in hand.
No hard feelings. =D
"From the animal-handling company that brought you Dr. Doolittle..."
"From the steadicam operator that worked on a Tony Jaa movie..."
"From the prosthetics technician who's cousin worked in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre..."
I'd be worried. :teddyr:
