Alien
Aliens (Extremely fun, but it suffers from something almost all of James Cameron's movies suffer from, and that's pacing. As a result, I can't watch the whole film in one sitting, I have to skip around. Aliens isn't bad, but I honestly prefer Alien for its haunting, uncomforting, enclosed atmosphere).
....What? You mean I have to acknowledge the existence of the other two movies? *groans* Alright, since you insist on insisting. xP
Alien: Ressurection

Resurrection is really different from the others - it's almost a parody of Alien while also being a sequel. Very tongue-in-cheek. And of course there's human-ape-Guy Smiley Muppet-hybrid Ron Perlman....
Gotta go with them in order except Res was better than 3. The original is such a classic. And not just because I saw it way too young and was probably permanently scarred as a result....
ALIEN is nearly a masterpiece of originality.
ALIENS is a lot of fun, but it is JAMES CAMERON of course.
I've seen the other films, they're "meh" for me.

Originality? In the production design, maybe, but the plot was a straight up rehash of
It! The Terror From Beyond Space, and the bit where the Nostromo crew finds the alien spaceship was appropriated directly from
Planet of the Vampires.
Aliens- Great action. Not really horror/sci-fi like the first.
Alien- Classic but IMO not as good as it used to be.
Alien 3- Bleh. To me, movies that are shot in almost complete darkness just don't inspire fear, just confusion.
Alien Ressurection- Bad, bad, bad. I went to the theater to see this and either facepalmed or buried my head in my hands most of the movie.
Aliens [Only because my friends and I quote it endlessly]
Alien
Alien Resurrection [I re-watched it for the first time recently and I was surprised by how good the tone was; it was much better than my younger self remembers]
Alien 3 [not a horrible film, but it killed off Newt and Hicks in a cheap and stupid way, and ruined a potentially good story in the process]
Aliens
Alien
Alien 3
Alien Ressurection
Pretty much the order in which they were released...yep. But ALIEN is far and away the best of the bunch.
Alien
Alien 3
Aliens
Alien Resurrection
That's my opinion. Take it or leave it.
1. Aliens
2. Alien
3. Alien: Resurrection
4. Alien 3 (worst of the 4)
