Cry/rejoice. I thought they weren't bad, had some decent stuff, had some meh stuff. I'm surprised it took them this long.

Heh, I thought they broke up over a decade ago!
Well, we can all rest easy knowing that Hanson is still out there making music.

(Check out their tambourine player.)
I bought their first album back in 1996 and wasn't very impressed. They sounded like an uninspired mix between Pearl Jam and Nirvana/Soundgarden/whatever.
I assumed they split up in the early 2000s. Guess I was wrong.
Don't bother me. Run of the mill band who rode the shirtails of better bands. Blah.

Same here. Anyhow, I can see (and hear) the influence Nirvana had on this band, and while I'm not really a fan of this kind of music, I do admit liking the song
Tomorrow. In the bigger picture, it's nothing more than another band sailing off into history....
A little better than NICKELBACK. Meh.
Daniel Johns, the lead guiatarist, had bad arthritis in his hands so they stopped playing for a while, then they came back in 2007 and released a new album, of which the single "Straight Lines" became a huge hit here, and was a departure from the grunge they previously released. Its more of a mainstream track, but its a good song nonetheless.

That being said, I only like a few of their songs, but I'm not surprised they have gone on 'indefinite hiatus.'
They did start to go far away from their grunge sound and I think they collaborated with Van Dyke Parks on their last 2 albums which certainly helped. Can't say I was a big fan or anything but I liked some of their music.

Yep me too. They were kind of part of the second wave grunge scene with bands like STP, Candlebox, etc. I'm not a big fan but I do like this song (already posted by Joe above). I relate to it for obvious reasons.
