Sappy: 1. abounding in sap 2. sentimental; mawkish 3. foolish

Man, this is hard for me. Air Supply was the first thing that sprang to my mind too, but then I thought of all the bands I like that have done drippy, sugary ballads and I watched some videos......But they're all awesome and don't seem sappy to me. Oh well. :smile:

I keep listening to that LIONEL RICHIE record on page 1... but I keep thinking it's that real cool RICHIE record with the hot guitar solo... which one could that be?? :question:

This one-hit wonder song from the early 80's was was a major sap-fest. This Canadian band released one album, which enjoyed some success in Canada, but was virtually unheard in the U.S., until eventually the band broke up, and then the song became a hit in the States in the late 80's. Efforts were made to get the band back together in response to the sudden surge, but everybody had gone their separate ways.

Look at the band! The guy on the far left and the guy second from the right are painfully geeky, while the other three are like the typical quaffed 80's hair-guys. Priceless.

Funny, my older sister had that album in the early 80's for some reason. I think she bought it and didn't much care for it and I ended up putting it on the turntable a few times. There are actually a couple of fairly rocking numbers on that album, and decently produced for an unknown band from Canda. But yeah, that ballad is just seeping maple sap.

If I recall correctly, Darksider doesn't like this record (and presumably not this live performance which does a nice approximation). I love this record, and this performance, and it's how I feel about all of you. But I know how that is to truly not like a record (read: euphemism) so, who luvs ya baby?
