All I can see around the hotel are a bunch of trees and some grass. There is a rooster outside my window. The End.

When in doubt, there's always beer. And you're in Germany. Go have one.

Enjoy and all the best, Burgo.
That was a great story. Brief, witty, intelligent and full of subtext. You must have time on your hands to enjoy such beauty.
Fun Germany Fact I just learnt: Oktoberfest is in September apparently! That must confuse tourists who want to get drunk and book holidays.

Thinking about it further, how close was the rooster? I've never been closer than 10 metres from a rooster, and would be curious to see if they actually look like they do in my imagination.
Plus if he was right by your window, that would be interesting/annoying.

Now, all you need to hit the road to Bremen and to making your fortune is a cat, a dog, and a donkey plus the rooster, and you'll have your musical group "The Bremen Town Musicians."
hey Burgo... How did it go?
It went well. The area was very rural and laid back, so there wasn't much excitement. If I go again, I will try to spend the weekend in Munich.
