I'm a big fan of this one. It's a Troma release, but it was directed by Lloyd Kaufman's brother, Charles. It's got some pretty creepy scenes, and the acting of the mother and the two brothers is fitting and weird. Eli Roth claims that it was a big inspiration, and the poolside scene was undoubtedly payed homage by PT Anderson in the opening scenes of Boogie Nights. Thoughts?
I've seen MOTHER'S DAY many times-heck-I own it on vhs....I don't recall a poolside scene.
I thought it was exploitive,sick,and....pretty great! I like how the brothers are "citified" by tv and the media.
For anyone interested, this Wednesday there will be a FREE screening of Mother's Day at the rerun theater at 147 Front Street in Brooklyn NYC. Lloyd Kaufman will be there answering questions, and he'll bring with him some sexy Tromettes, as well as The Toxic Avenger himself! Hope to see some badmovies.org cretins out there!
I'm looking forward to the upcoming blu-ray release.
Gets my vote for the Weirdest Villian Death in movie history. (the mother)
AMAZING movie. "You boys make you're mama proud!", hehe....
