I expected it to be really bad, I'd have gone and watched it anyway because I wanted to review the movie
I haven't seen the first two movies and literally EVERYONE I know who's seen it says it sucked...pity, because my first crush at the tender age of 4, was Optimus Prime. I think I might wait until they're all on Netflix and then do a marathon, just to say I've seen them, but yeah, another cherished childhood franchise run into the ground. :/
So... this one sucked liked the other 2? How on EARTH did they manage that?

Fast forward past everything but the robot fights in the first one and it's kind of ok. Never saw the second.
Two of my friends saw Dark of the Moon and told me they walked out on it. :buggedout: Apparently, the last action scene goes on for so long they got bored and couldn't take it.
I give all of you props for watching this and the prior sequels. I gave up after the first cinematic atrocity.

Agreed.
They're horrible, horrible films...
What's even more painful is that they should be brilliant!
Outer space, alien robots getting into fights. Its the best concept in the weorld ever!

Do yourself a favor and stay that way. It's shocking to believe, but there is no plot for a good majority of that second film. Say what you want about a lot of the recent blockbusters, they at least had some sort of story going on.
Me and my friend are gonna go see this next week. I'm prepared for the hurt...
They showed the first one on TV the other day. I managed about 3 minutes of it. There was lots of CGI and men running around and it was all far too fast to take in, then Shy LePoof was in a classroom talking about selling his grandpa's glasses on Ebay....
I remember a few months ago I was getting my haircut and the barber had the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on the big screen... I was watching it wondering what the movie was about or what it was, no joke... right up until someone in the movie said the word "Decepticons" I had no clue I was watching Transformers, that's sad, man.

I give you credit for trying to watch any part of the movie knowing your stance on CGI. Frankly, if I wanted to convince you that CGI was a good thing, this would sooooo not be my choice thanks to the fact that everything else blows.
The 2nd one was bad enough. In fact, it was added to my "f**k this movie" list when it got to the part with the clanging Devastator balls shot. Still haven't finished it to this date and will never bother. I have no interest at all in the 3rd one.
I'd rather watch an Ed Wood or Bert I. Gordon movie than anything with Michael Bay's name on it.
Just sayin'.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is the best of the three films. The action, whilst pointless was pretty fun for the most part, and for once you felt like the humans were somewhat relevant. That being said I hated almost every character in the movie with the exception of Alan tudyk whom I still hold in high regard after death at a funeral and firefly.
Nonsense plot and a-hole characters but at least it was entertaining enough and there was some slight plot points and character developments that were reasonable enough. Compared to transformers 2 this film is genius but revenge of the fallen set the bar so low it's not surprising...
My 6 year old nephew thinks these movies are DA BOMB! We'll see what he thinks when he's 7.
Someone told me UNICRON is in this movie. They were messin around right?
EDIT... nevermind... I looked it up... I rather NOT say
Never saw the first one
Never saw the second one
Never saw this one
And I never intend to. I heard about the kind of humor used in this film and I instantly didn't want to see it. Unintelligent, dirty, brainless humor is the bane of my existence and the scourge of cinema. I refuse to watch this film.
Uh, gotta ask A.J....then what are you doing here? No offense meant, just thinking you reasons seem to be why many riff fests happen. I mean, look how popular MST3K is.

Here we go again...
I hate bad movies. I love riffs. I like bad movies like a sadistic WWII American soldier loves Nazis. To destroy them out of hatred and enjoy every second of it. I despise terrible cinema and love riffers like Nostalgia Critic, The Spoony One, MST3K, etc. I love to criticize garbage.
Now if you're talking terrible movies that are fun because they're stupid, I laugh every time I see cheesy special effects or extremely hammy acting. My favorite so-bad-its-good film is "The Room".

I'm so glad to see that these films are hated around here. I saw the first one and that was way more than enough for me. An absolutely horrible movie that I hate a little more each day.
And what does "Dark of the Moon" even mean, anyway?

That's where Sentinel Prime landed, basically, but it's really not the focus of the story at all.
A.J Baur's Ed Wood gif is hypnotising me.
Must. RESIST!

Oh, so, the dark
side of the moon that doesn't really exist? Where's WyreWizard?

Guess Bay couldn't use
Darker Side of the Moon, cuz then It would sound badass, too much for Mr. Bay. :tongueout:
As someone who spent some "altered time" sitting listening to Classic Rock in the dead of night, I can safely say:
"There is no dark side of the moon. As a matter of fact, it's all dark. The only thing that makes it look alight is the sun"
Man, can we get a pizza?

For 97,400,000 reasons, which I understand was the opening weekend U.S. gross for the film. It is also the #1 film for the second week in a row. Though, the #1 ranking should end next weekend, when the latest and newest and last of the "Harry Potter" films opens in the U.S. No idea as to how much that'll film will earn.
With an box office gross like that, I expect we'll see a "Transformers IV." Though, they'll have to do it without Shia LeBeouf, who says he wants out after three films.

I don't understand that sentence?
I will be in the minority here when I say that I absolutely loved the first movie. I thought it was the best movie of that year, no joke. I loved it as much as Batman Begins and Casino Royale.
I thought the second movie was kind of cool but I didn't feel the love of the first.
And then came Dark Side of the Moon. Oh my god. I was so disappointed. Disjointed direction, crappy script, loose plot, bad acting, and an orgiastic overuse of Bayisms. I've never seen so many lens flares, slow motion action pieces and sweeping pans in my life. In the first movie I cared about the people and the robots. Transformers 3 was all the artificial constructs of the first two movies but done to absolute death.
At least I had a good time out with my friend, who has watched movies with me for over 25 years. His wife is having their first kid soon, and our moviegoing days are numbered. I just hope we can get in some better movies before the Alien bursts free from the her body. :teddyr:
