Title: Canadian Bacon (1996)
Post by: Trevor on July 26, 2011, 08:58:13 AM
I wasn't sure where to put this exactly as it wasn't bad and it did make me laugh.

I saw this Michael Moore film on the MGM Channel last night: great photography and some really funny lines ["An American's attention span is shorter than your d**k", for example  :teddyr:], the idiots not knowing that Ottawa is the capital of Canada and not Toronto, the power hungry warmongerers, the soldier getting shot dead because he broke his toe  :buggedout:, the Russians eating KFC and Dan Aykroyd as a policeman asking John Candy's motley bunch to display their truck's graffiti in both English and French.  :teddyr:

Any thoughts on this, AndyC, Newt and others?

I would gladly present "Canadian Bacon" as proof that no one can make as much fun of America as Americans do.

I liked this movie as a kid even when I didn't get all the jokes and I still like it as an adult. I loved Alan Alda as the president and his begging the Russians to get back in the cold war is priceless.  They are right on one thing though, Canadian beer does suck

Canadian Bacon is a very underrated film IMO. I wish that someone would finally get a deluxe blu-ray release of it done at some point.
