Yup, that's a shame.

I always hoped he could pull it together enough to get another project going, as he was one of the most interesting vocalists to come out of the early '90s.  Besides Alice in Chains his work on the Mad Season CD is fantastic.

Yeah it was to bad he had that drug problem. Alice In Chains was a way better band than that crack-band Nirvana.

      You can now also add Linda Lovelace to this growing list of 2002's most unlikely celebrity deaths(she died from injuries substained in a car accident three weeks ago).

I wouldn't call Layne's death unexpected, it was really only a matter of time because he was so devoted to heroin and refused all offers of help.
